Working on a new side project now. It's a more modern era story, which is a nice change. I had a dream about the titular character and his boyfriend last night. It was really well formed and made me think about them in a more personal way for the first time in awhile. Never dreamt of them before, usually dream of Laurie if I dream about novels, dream about Laurie being a foppy playboy.

Some unnecessary information I'm going into the novel with:

Marcellus is Laurent's son from the 1960s and 70s, his twin older brothers (Marcel and Pascal) are not as derided as he is. If he weren't so pretty he'd be dead, and Laurie likes to pick on that. Dasius fancies him because he looks like a very much taller, slightly more masculine version of Laurie, and of course Dasius has always been a little obsessed with Laurie. Like Leechtin, Dasius fancies blonds, though not as young as the ones Leechtin tends to like.

David Murchison and Daniel March are new characters (: Humans! Dasius deals with the human world a whollllle lot more than any one else in the coven does because he is their primary source of income. What does he do? We'll find out. Like anybody rolling in dough, Dasius has personal staff, including David, his personal lawyer, and Daniel, his personal accountant. I should think that they both have wives and families (: so we get to see what happens when the supernatural world and more pedestrian lives interact with each other. Should be fun (: perhaps Marcellus will begin to feel sad about his lot in life. Maybe we will get to see why he becomes what he becomes.

Finally working on TMWY seriously again after vacillating through many projects. We pick up with Nicky taking Laurent back to Paris.

Been doing mostly art stuff, musing on stories. There are a couple new short passages for TMWY, bu holding onto those for now.

Seems like most of the people in this guild have disappeared, but that's ok I suppose...

Been working on a few projects, was sort of scattered because of my job. New job soon. Trying to relax and do what I can.

Every time I have a dream about Dasius I get interested in him again.

Things are sort of off and on lately. Some things really work, other things really don't. I may be going back in to rework the prose on the beginning soonish since it's been on my mind and I'm just not producing. There's a lot of story left. I worry that it's too much. Somehow it will work.

I'm really into Marcellus and Dasius lately, but I'm not really sure what to say about them. They've got so much stuff.

And what I said earlier about Dasius liking Marcellus because he looks like his father, well, that's obviously not all of it. Lately I'm thinking it's threefold, the daddy thing, the spoiled brat who is ridiculously slick but 100% naive thing, and the wanting to shove all of that up against a wall and kiss it thing. Dasius has that. Usually though he just stares at it like a 15 year old.

Yes Dasius carries a cane that he whacks people with. That'll work.

Marcellus turns into a falling apart, melted ice cream mess because it's overwhelming and because Laurie picks on him and because really underneath it all he's just a boy. And a housewife.
