Just found this one on UTube. Some blokes mucking around on low-visibility roads at night playing Initial D, when the fellow in the GTR finds out the hard way about the relationship between vehicle weight and weight transfer during cornering: GTR CRASHNote that the lead car also seems to have misjudged the corner in which the white car hit the wall, but the lighter weight of the Evo allows it to recover just quickly enough for the situation to be saved. At nearly 2 tons, the GTR's chassis didn't come back quickly enough and...BANG.

Beh, the guy in the Evo was just lucky. By the sounds that car was making on that road it sounded to me, like he didn't know that road all that well either ( A skid here, a lock up there etc) and they didn't sound like controled or purposeful skids. Seemed like those kids didn't do much of reccee.
I think the guy in the GTR put too much trust in that car, if he didn't trust it he would've braked harder and sooner, and might've been able to make that corner.
"At this point my co-pilot informed me that the GTR had crashed..." LOL! You should've spotted that yourself bozo.

Sweet!
But honestly, seeing how they were playing around and crossing the line in a low visibility situation, I pray to God that they end up off the road soon. Whether it be through their cars wrecking, getting arrested, or them dying doesn't matter. I want stupid ******** like that off the road.

You'd think that a GT-R would be able to keep up with an Evo IX no prob... Realistically, there's no reason it shouldn't. There's just a difference in driver skill. Whoever is driving the Evo is obviously much more experienced in the corners and has a very firm understanding of his car's limits.

I want stupid ******** like that off the road. +1 for them stacking it and doing so early, last thing I want is for some idiot in a near-2-ton projectile coming at me on the wrong side of the road.

Give me a older stock standard Evo 6 or 7, and a week on that road, and he won't loose me. Give me a month and a Evo 3 And I'll loose him after the first few corners. That evo driver ain't that good. Better than the GT-R, but a driver who knows a road or a corse well enough to drive it quick doesn't lock up like he did.

I agree with you Millefune, I don't think I'd wish death amongst someone though, but any other way of getting them off the road is great. It really pisses me off to see people do that, its like they're just too selfish and don't care about what goes on in their surroundings. I hate ignorant drivers like that. evil stressed

Damn, Joey beat me to the punch! I was thinking of something along those lines when I was reading up on the posts.
Anyway, Super and Friv... really? You guys seem awfully confident in your driving abilities, and yet I believe (I may be wrong) neither one of you has true race drive schooling. I'm pretty sure the only ones who ought to be talking about "give me this and this, and I'll lose him" would be Davo, Joey, and maybe Soldier.
I've been through a Skip Barber class course at Laguna Seca, and a Hooked on Driving class course at Thunderhill, as well as taken home a couple of event purses for the "showroom stock" class, but I still don't have the cajones to say I can take those guys in the video.

Apparently they do this alot. *shruggs*
I'd love to join in (except for the chance of crashing into random folks part) hopefully they use spotters.

Please, Millefune, you misunderstand my intentions. By saying that, I was simply trying to emphasize that the GT-R is a more capable machine than the Evo IX, or any stock Evo for that matter. If both cars were being driven by people of similar skill, the one driving the GT-R would undoubtedly have the upper hand. Oh, and mind you, when you're talking cajones, it also takes a good bit to propose that because you went to school for something, it means you're better at it.

The fact of the matter is some people are simply born with talent. I'm sure there's someone out there that's missing all of his red tape and credentials that just has the ability to push a car further to its limits than you do. Of course, I wouldn't be naive enough to assume it'd be me. Although, you never know, do you?
If you think I'm the sort of person that would make assumptions about my own skills in relation to others', I'd have to say that you've got the wrong guy.

Nowhere did I ever propose that I was better at driving than anyone on this board because of my schooling and/or competition experience. I just said that even after all that, I still don't try to say I can outdrive others who have any semblance of skill.* I was curious as to why you guys would state that you would be able to take those guys (Super straight up said it, and you said you'd be able to take Super). I may have natural talent in using a scalpel, and can play Operation very well, but I wouldn't say I could do surgery better than an educated surgeon who doesn't have as steady hands as I do. I'm also a decent sized, somewhat in shape, guy who knew how to fight well enough to get out of trouble in high school... but it wasn't until I got real training (Boxing, Judo, and Wrestling... not that fake Tae Kwon Do crap) that I was truly able to defend myself and my family. I may have good hand-eye coordination... but without proper training, I wouldn't be as good with my guns as I am now. But even with all that training, you still have a point... because I do stupid s**t like this:  *I have stated that I'm a better driver than over 99% of the licensed drivers in America, but that's not a difficult feat to accomplish. Most drivers have no idea what to do when they start to plow or spin... or even how to drive a manual transmission.
