My God, the Silvia looks like crap from that angle. What's up with Nissan having all these really sharp angle A-Pillar to Roofline designs? It's especially painful looking on the 370Z.

I wouldn't say it looks like a truck either, but what I WOULD say is that its given to me, I change the rims, and leave it as it is. Then I'll have my dream car cool

+1 for the rims being what's mucking the entire car up. These cars "look" best dropped on its guts with big dish and smaller rims ie. 17's.

My first thought when looking at the car was that the wheels where far to big.
I'd go with 16s or 17s with a nice lip. Then they'd look good.

Yeah, anything larger than 17"s on virtually any performance type car is just wrong. I had 17"s on my truck and they looked HUGE, I don't know how people do dubs and stuff.

Anything bigger than 17" is no good on a performance car? Hm...  Sorry guys, guess it's back to the drawing board... This, on the other hand, Is the perfect example of a performance car, and is universally considered to be sexier than the 350Z, by popular vote.

Psst! That's not a GTO... and I'm pretty sure the Grand Am GTs came with 15s or 16s.
Anyway, I think that perhaps he meant anything bigger than 17s on a compact car is kinda pointless. Then again... Corvettes are pretty compact, and they look great with the 18s/19s that come on them. For me, it's all about proportions. 17s are the maximum size that look good on Accords, Integras, and Civics to me. They don't look all tiny, but they also don't look all oversized. On bigger cars (such as Frivolous' and mine... and the ultra sexy Mustang), I think 18s look much better than 17s. I just kept 17s on mine, because I didn't want to sacrifice ride quality on my cruiser from having thinner sidewall tires... and the 18s weighed more.

I feel sorry for the car, because that's a lot of extra unsprung rotational mass that it has to turn, in addition to the weight being shifted further outward from the hub.

The 'Vettes, Vipers, Porsche's and other tourers were designed with alignments and arm geometries to accept the larger wheel sizes. But for normal cars you can't go too large or you screw up the handling.

I was just gonna say that bigger wheels means more inertia and bla bla bla. Was also going to point out that you don't see many race cars if at all, with huge rims and low profile tires.
I like a bit of tire or my rim.

My bro's Rx-8 has 18's in the front and 19's in the back with pretty thick tires and the wheels don't look over sized at all. He also put the wheels of his 4Runner on his Rx-8 and they fit too. Maybe those cars are trucks at heart. razz
