General:
This is the world of Etheria, which evolved from our world 500 years ago. The world is covered by Seven different tribes (civilizations). Each is unique, with two different clans. Each with a power that one is born with, and cannot learn. Look them over and choose, for once chosen, you are stuck with it till death.

Clans:
There are 2 clans in each Tribe, each with a leader. These Clans make up the single tribe, and can either be competitive or cooperative (decided by the Shuhan at the creation of the Tribe). Each leader of the Tribe is an Advisor to the Shuhan himself, and is of Sage rank (S-rank). Once born into a clan, you cannot change it till death.

Other Information You Should Know

Okay. AS suggested by a fellow member, I have decided to put More Information about the Tribes. These seemed obvious to me, but i think it has escaped most people's notice.

1. Majutsu do not fight with the body, or any magic that you have to use physical strength to use. They focus on the Mind's powers, and disregard the body. There is no way of avoiding this, so don't argue. They are always thin reedy little bastards because of this, too. They cannot use armor, and are only allowed Daggers and Quarterstaffs for weapons, though they cannot use Technique with these weapons (No staff of dagger techniques). They still have wings, though. Their 2 clans are Black Artists and Shapers (Shapeshifters)

2. Kensaki, who are master swordsman, are not very proficient in magic at all. They can combine elements with their swords, and increase their physical properties, but they cannot use magic on the scale that Majutsu can. They focus on body rather than mind. They are also the only known manipulators of Light. Their two clans are the Warriors and the Bards.

3. Ryuu cannot use elemental magic of any sort. But their physical abilities are unmatched, though, which means that most people in a purely physical fight with them would lose. They focus entirely on the body, believing magic is a pure weakness. You cannot avoid this.

4. Zenbi are the strongest Water Users, and the fastest of the Tribes. Because of the ocean that surrounds them, they can control the element of water above and beyond what even a Majutsu can do. Their speed comes from their meditation and training, as their name is for. Physical Perfection. They combine unarmed fighting, the art of the staff (too), with the power of Water Magic. That is the only element they can use. Occasionally... when the Ijutsu tribe is in peril... the Shuhan of the Ijutsu tribe will travel to their lands for free in order to obtain the Zenbi tribe's Astral Gems and Spirit Crystals. Their two clans are Battle Artists and Telekinetics.

5. Ijustu usually center on healing, and neutrality, though their Shuhan is a bit of a warrior. Because of most of their dislike for one-sided fights, they alone may manipulate plants, and summoning techniques. Secretly, they have 3 Light techniques, but these they rarely use, as they are Forbidden Techniques. They are also Summoners of Nature and Elemental Spirits, and their two clans are the Druids and the Summoners, but either can use Nature Magic without restrictions on specialization.

6. Shahou are hard to put limitations on. They are elf like, and are ranged combatants. But this is what I'll do. The only melee weapon they can use are the Dagger and the Quarterstaff. Everything else is range. Their two clans are Archers and ______.

7. The Kyoushu are even harder. They are the ONLY manipulators of Shadow element techniques. They have the power to change their physical appearence with Techniques, not through illusion but by actually altering their physical form. They cannot use huge weapons, and instead focus on Daggers, Sickles, Shortswords, Punching Daggers, etc. Think Ninja Tools, and you get the items they are allowed to have. No Katanas or swords bigger than 1.5 feet long. Their two clans are Assassins and Necromancers.

Kensaki Tribe - Swordsmen

User Image
Specialty: Swordsmenship, Bardic Skills
Clans: Knights, Bards
Powers of the Knight Clan: The powers of the Knights are simple: To enchant the weapons they hold with elemental magic. They can fuse magic into their weapons for a time, allowing them to make their weapon burn with fire, or chill to the bone with ice. The elements of Fire, Air, and Lightning can be fused into the bladed weapons of the Knights.
Powers of the Bard Clan: The Bards have the ability to to enhance or hinder the minds of their listeners. A Bard may play his instrument, and suddenly their companions will feel energized, ready to fight for hours. They could also sing, and have their enemies feel a bit of fear. However, the truth of their power is that they enhance or reduce one emotion that the targets feel, and ONLY 1 Emotion. They can harnass the power of the element of Light and use it, with the help of a reflective surface (often a Mirror) to blind their enemies.

Positives: The Kenaski are knights, and often find themselves quickly learning many skills in life. Kensaki members who attain Master ranks are often awarded estates and large pieces of land for their effort. Their mastery with the sword, the grace they show with it, is unmatched. You are considered Nobel, and are accepted in every Tribe without prejudice (unless you personally piss someone off)
Negatives: They don't get to heal, nor use magic that would make others blink and/or run in fear. They are good for fighting, and for being diplomatic, but aren't meant for the long range type. They are like the humans from the Medieval Era, except with a bit of magic of their own.
Appearence: The kensaki tribe are the only tribe that has remained completely "human", as the pure bloodline was encouraged to maintain their noble status.
Other Info You Should Know: This is the tribe that originally formed from the governments of the world. Because of this, they are all nobles. They act as a sort of U.N. for the other tribes, though some see them as imperialists. They build their cities in open areas surrounded by forest. Their entire society is built like the medieval era, with castles, barons, kings, queens, princes, princesses, etc. They even have jousts and such.

Ryuu Tribe - Axe Wielders

User Image
Specialty: Axe Wielding
Clans: Barbarians
Powers of the Barbarian Clan: The Barbarians are what you would call a "Killing Machine". They can take more damage than any other race, and can deal the most physical damage in a single attack than any other. They use no magic, yet make up for this by being immune to all mind magic and all purely elemental magic (Such as the Bard magic and the Black Artists magic). They aren't overly bright, but that doesn't make them stupid. Barbarians also have a unique ability to throw themselves into a Blood Frenzy. A Berserker Rage. While in this rage, their already monstrous strength is doubled, and they lose their ability to distinguish friend and foe. While in this rage, they can ONLY be killed by losing their head or by reducing the body to ash. They ignore all else, even the loss of limbs. This rage will last based on the rank of the Barbarian, being 5 posts/rank. After the Rage ends, all damage is accrued, which might well mean the Barbarian drops dead.

**Note** A barbarian doesn't actively decide when to Rage. Their anger just suddenly becomes so great they enter it. They CANNOT control themselves, and will attack everyone. They cannot end their rage short of being killed unless their time expires.
Powers of the Anima Warrior Clan: The Anima Warriors are like barbarians, true. But Anima Warriors, when they fight, fight in an animal form. Upon birth, an Anima gains the "Totem Spirit" of one specific animal, which is never a magical beast. At first, the animal forms are of normal grown adult size, and are just as deadly. However, at C-rank, these animal's grow half again as big and strong, and at B-rank, they are twice as big as the original. At A-rank, their natural attacks (fang and claw) ran rend through magical equipment, meaning they can break magical items. This does NOT mean they can cut through anything, though. At Shuhan rank, however, things change, and they are able to alter the appearance of their form by one factor. Like, you could add wings to your form, or the power to breathe fire. The size of the beast can change, ranging from infant stage to THREE TIMES as big as the original form. This is how they fight, and they can never change the animal they can become. Once a kitty, always a kitty.
Positives: Ryuu Tribe members aren't just tall, they are STRONG. They are quite literally five times as strong as a normal human, and are highly resistant (immune) to all forms of poison. They are the only ones that can survive the Blasted Waste, and are highly resistant to natural cold.
Negatives: With such massive build and strength comes natural fear. All of the other tribes rightly are cautious around the Ryuu, and the Majuu Tribes are downright hateful of this Tribe of humanoids who are immune to their magic. The Ryuu aren't very bright, their most intelligent being what a normal human would call "gifted". They treat all magic as weak, and any who use it as pathetic AND Weak creatures that have to rely on tricks and black magic to survive, instead of using their natural bodies to fight. In general, the Ryuu are brutes, and the world treats them as such.
Appearence: Their race has gone the second farthest from normal human appearance and is marked by unusual bulk (muscle) and grey skin that is covered in random black and white splotches, making them blend into their environment easier. All members are between 8 and 12 feet tall
Other Info You Should Know: This tribe is one of the more war-like, and are savage beyond understanding. Often, they will sneer at "civilization" and refuse to enter cities because of this. They are nomads, and follow the great reindeer and other animals that live in the Icelands that keep them alive.

Majutsu Tribe - Black Arts

User Image
Clans: Black Artists, Shifters
Powers of the Black Artist Clan: The Black Artists are Majutsu who specialize in the awe-inspiring power of elemental magic called Black Art. Each Artist is born differently, some able to learn only one element while others learn all Four (Earth, Fire, Lightning, and Air). The ones who learn only one element are ALWAYS far stronger than others who learn all Four. It's one or all, boys and girls, and NEVER just two. Black Artists spend hours learning to harness the elemental control within them, and as they increase in rank greater and greater control is allowed. One a Black Artist reaches their second rank in the hierarchy, they learn to generate the element they control (Earth can generate sand). At Shuhan rank, or Sage rank, a Black Artist is able to turn into his element, just like Sandman from Spiderman 3.
Powers of the Shifters: Shifters have the abilty to change shape into any animal, based on rank. D-ranked can shift into basic animals, C-ranked can shift into BIG animals, B-ranked can shift into animals with one special ability (for instance, a shadowcat that could briefly turn invisible... I know this is wandering into Kyoushu territory, but it's just an example). A-ranked can change into a beast with two abilities, such as a fire demon that can throw fireballs and also glows with a fire aura that burns attackers. S-ranked can shift into a beast with three abilities, and SS-ranked with four. The abilities mentioned in A-SS must be closely related to each other(i.e. two fire based abilities).
Positives: Majutsu are known far and wide as the richest of all the Tribes, and thus there is no such thing as a "Poor" Majutsu. There are levels in the hierarchy, such as Noble, Royal, etc, and the Shuhan rules supreme, but they always have money. Now, Majutsu can do the most damage at any one time, able to devastate much with a flick of the wrist or a twitch of the nose. They are feared, and always have at least one slave with them or their family. They can fly and cast spells, though it takes a bit of effort to do so. They have VERY high resistances against the Bardic magic.
Negatives: Well, they are arrogant. And because of this they aren't much liked. They are slave traders, though most of the common folk don't know this. THey also cannot use any weapon except for a dagger or a staff, and can wear no armor whatsoever, except for robes. They are physically weak, meaning easy to kill with physical attacks.
Appearence: The Majutsu Tribe are known for their super-human beauty, and their wings, the feathers of which are always varying shades of dark-gray to black in color.
Other Info You Should Know: Arrogant as hell, the Majutsu Tribe believe that they are the superior race, and believe that one day all other "Lower Races" will one day bow down in worship of them. Not today, but one day soon. They live on the side of an extinct Volcano in large houses that positively SHOUT their arrogance to the world. Fancy shmancy buildings made of stone and gold, decorated with jewels found and mined from the volcano. This tribe practices Slavery with monsters from the Wild Lands, though the term Monster can, and usually is, applied to whatever and whomever they catch in the Wild Lands.

Ijutsu Tribe - White Arts

User Image
Clans: White Artists, Summoners
Powers of the White Artist Clan: The White Artists are what many would call Druids. They rely on the magic of Nature to access the elements of Earth, Wind, and Water (though the Zenbi are the masters of the Water Element), and if you are the Shuhan you may access the element of Light to use three techniques developed centuries ago. They can control the plants of the forest, and can even speak with the trees themselves. They are healers, able to heal wounds based on the the rank of the healer. (I'm not going to be too strict on these, but be smart. No D-rank, or even C-rank, will be going around healing broken bones and gouges in the flesh of the target.) At the rank of Master, the White Artist learns how to manipulate the weather itself within miles, and the Shuhan may even control the weather in half the Tribe territory.
Powers of the Summoner Clan: The summoners are an odd bunch, for unlike the White Artists they aren't abhorred by violence, and often seem to seek it out. However, of all the Clans of the world, they are by far the most interested in learning. Because of this learning, they were able to learn how to gain the contracts of spirits that the Summoner could then use to summon them as they wished. How a complete list of Summons, however, you must look at the Topic for it in the Ijutsu forum, as well as a list of what rank you have to be to attain them.
Positives: They are masters of the forest and the arts of healing. They are accepted everywhere because of their neutrality as far as healing goes, especially because they will even heal the Majutsu, their evil counterparts. They can use daggers, maces, morningstars, and staffs.
Negatives: They wear no armor, and would rather talk than fight.
Appearance: Members of this tribe have a tail,cat-like ears and sharpened senses... though the cat-likeness has not extended to increase their reflexes. They usually wear loose white clothes combined with foliage from the trees (leaves and such).
Other Info You Should Know: Members of the Ijutsu Tribe are kind, peace loving, and neutral people. They believe in helping whom they can, to 'help first, ask questions later'. They live on the top of a Forested Mountain, and their magic allows them to live inside the trees. Their homes are actually formed in tune with the forest around them, and to cut any tree is forbidden. They can shape the trees by their songs. All members of the Ijutsu Tribe are unequalled when it comes to Singing. All animals are automatically friendly to any member of the Ijutsu. Despite the fact that the other tribes still think that they are still pure pacifists, they are in fact neutral, and fight back extremely furiously when they are attacked, which has shocked many of the other tribes who think that the Ijutsu were weaklings. No matter if they are a Summoner or White Artist, they can use Nature Magic, as it is in their blood deeper than Summoning or White Arts are.

Shahou Tribe - Archery

User Image
Clans: Animal Talkers, Illusionists
Powers of the Animal Talker Clan: Much like the stereotypical Ranger, the Animal Talkers have the ability to communicate with all animals, even the magical type. And they can forge a link with a single animal, forming a magical attachment to that creature. From then on, that animal gains the intelligence of a human, or even MORE than a human, and gains one single magical power (must be accepted by the Shuhan). You can now talk telepathically, and can enhance the fangs and claws of the animal with magic, making them harder, sharper, and stronger than normal. At first, you can only have one. However, when the Animal Talker achieves Master rank, that increases to two. At Shuhan rank, they can have 4. When the animal dies, the Animal Talker has to wait one month before being able to form an attachment (Linking) with another.
Powers of the Illusionist Clan: The Illusionist Clan are the protectors of the forests, able to cause misdirection with their magic. Based on the rank of the Illusionist, they can create literally anything as an illusion, even to the point of fooling the mind into taking damage from them. At D-rank, all illusions are pretty easy to see through, for they make literally no sound, smell, or light whatsoever. And they can only create small scale illusions which cannot hurt anyone. At C-rank, they add sound to the illusion, but still have no smell or weight, and the scale of the illusions increase a bit and yet they are still unable to harm anyone. At B-rank, the illusions become partially real, and can make medium scale illusions with both sound and smell, and even a bit of weight. Even if people "see through" the illusion, it WILL still hurt them, because it becomes partially real. At A-rank (Master), the Illusionist can create large scale illusions, which seem to be as real as anything, with scent, sound, weight, etc. They even have a shadow. This can be used to cause an area to become invisible, or look like something else. At Shuhan rank, or S-Rank, the Illusionist can create illusions that span the entire Tribe, and make them as intricate as they wish.
Positives: Shahou are masters of anything that can be shot or thrown, and have the power to enchant their ranged weapons with the elements of Fire, Lightning, Air, and Water. They are graceful, and can balance on sharp edges with ease.
Negatives: They cannot wear metal armor, for to do so interferes with their powers and stops them from working. The only metal they may use are the ranged weapons. They cannot use melee weapons except for daggers, which they mostly use for skinning animals and cutting them up.
Appearence: They are marked by an elf-like appearance which includes pointed ears, and usually wear clothes that match their surroundings enough for them to blend in perfectly. Their eyesight is greater than a normal humans.
Other Info You Should Know: The Shahou are a rather self-sufficient tribe and live deep in the forests near a range of mountains where it is difficult for other tribes to wage war against them. They believe in staying out of the affairs of others, and are not kind to strangers either. They are marked by an elf-like appearance which includes pointed ears.

Kyoushu Tribe - The Hidden

User Image

Clans: Assassins, Necromancers
Powers of the Assassin Clan: The Assassin Clan is best known for their ability to alter their physical appearance and even vanish from sight. Their powers are of personal illusion, in which they can make themselves look, sound, or smell like someone else. They can draw shadows around themselves, making them vanish at night. At Master ranks, they can use shadows not connected to living things to transport themselves to other places. They are masters of the Ninja arts, as many have begun calling them, and have an innate ability to cause everything within 100 ft to become silent, meaning no sounds can be made. This can be used at any time, though it is considered highly rude and illegal in Kyoushu society to silence another Kyoushu.
Powers of the Necromancer Clan: The powers of the Necromancer are horrible and terrifying to behold.
Positives:
Negatives:
Appearence: They are marked by their horns and extra set of eyes. Some of them have varying shades of skin, black being most common, but this is actually a cultural thing, in which their skin is dyed, not a genetic effect. They usually hide this through their Stealth Skills that allow them to change their appearence.
Other Info You Should Know: next to the axe-wielders, they are the least human tribe, and this combined with their elusive nature and profession of being sellswords causes the other tribes to hold prejudices against them. They live inside of mountains, deep within blackness that no other races can see in well. They can see in the dark, and they are naturally quiet. Inside of these mountains, the Kyoushu live in many caves or alcoves that spread throughout the mountain. At the center of the great caverns are always a tower that stretches from the lowest floor to almost the tip of the mountain. The cavern is lit faintly with glow moss, though these can be extinguished quickly if necessary.

Zenbi Tribe - Physical Perfection

User Image
Clans: Physical Perfectionist, Telekinetics
Powers of the Physical Perfectionist Clan:
Powers of the Telekinetic Clan:
Positives:
Negatives:
Appearence: All members of the zenbi tribe are born with an ape-like tail, and their feet have opposable thumbs. Meaning, they can use their feet to grab things as well. Somehow, they can move extremely fast even with this abnormality, faster than any other Tribesman.
Other Info You Should Know: Members of the Zenbi Tribe live on an island between all the lands. They, and they alone, have access to the inner sanctum of the island, though no one but they know what is there. They are expert sailors, and anyone who attacks the island may find themselves dead in the water before they get within miles of the shore. They believe in using few weapons, and prefer to use unarmed fighting when in combat, though they are experts with Darts and Staves, too. There are the few who also know how to use bows. Anyway, they are the ones you'll meat when crossing any large body of water, and they are jealous of their secrets.

Wanderers:

User Image
Wanderers, for whatever reason, have left their tribes, or have been born outside of any Tribe Boundary and has never chosen to join one. Those who are Wanderers range from the rank of the unknowing Apprentice to the wise Sage. Some are even known to have found knowledge in their travels and wanderings that are unknown, or believed lost, to the rest of the world. For whatever their reasons are, Wanderers are just that. Wanderers. They wander the world and do what they want, though some may have their names on some bounty out there.
