Yeah. I'm definatly needing a good rant about child abuse. It just pisses me off. After defining it for all y'all, like so;
"Emotional Abuse: (also known as: verbal abuse, mental abuse, and psychological maltreatment) Includes acts or the failures to act by parents or caretakers that have caused or could cause, serious behavioral, cognitive, emotional, or mental disorders.
Neglect: The failure to provide for the child’s basic needs. Neglect can be physical, educational, or emotional. Physical neglect can include not providing adequate food or clothing, appropriate medical care, supervision, or proper weather protection (heat or coats). It may include abandonment. Psychological neglect includes the lack of any emotional support and love, never attending to the child, spousal abuse, drug and alcohol abuse including allowing the child to participate in drug and alcohol use.
Physical Abuse: The inflicting of physical injury upon a child. This may include, burning, hitting, punching, shaking, kicking, beating, or otherwise harming a child."
And sexual abuse, but that's not really what I'm ranting about, I'd like to ask; "What do you think?"
So, what do you think? Is this something people should pay more attention too? Are the long term affects serious? I think they are, but do you?

Yes, it is serious! There are people who feel that they must be parents because they have a child, but then they don't know what to do. The ones who neglect their children could just give the child up for adoption, but they are worried what other people will think. "where's your kid?" They probably are fond of the child as well.......I guess. They can't afford a sitter so they lock their children in the house or in one room for 10+ hours. For some reason they think that this is better than giving up the child, though they obviously can't give it the attention and care that it needs.

Yes because it messes kids up and not solving it only spreads the cycle of violence

Kid's are to winy nowa-days, they need a good shoe to the face!
I'm not joking. I don't think that the parent should beat the kid senseless, well sometimes, just smack their a** across the room with one good hit. It's called "STOP BEING STUPID!"
But aside from that ya, I agree with you.
