The heavy stomping of his own feet through the dead leaves, twigs and muddy ground was the only sound Ryan could hear, besides his occasional cursing when he stumbled, tripped or became snagged by the mischievous roots and branches of the tress and bushes that crowded the forest. He moved his shoulders in a circle again, trying to ease off the stiffness and ache from last night that he felt all over his body. Sleeping on the ground was a lot worse then he expected. He was tired, grumpy, hungry and aching all over, and each night was worse then the last. Ryan felt he hadn’t slept at all, which was probably true since it seemed like every time he managed to fall asleep he woke up again.
He huffed and puffed with every step, the man couldn’t remember the last time he had walked so far, his feet throbbed and Ryan was surprised he didn’t have blisters by now. That was it, he needed another break.
“I need a rest.” He gasped before using a tree to ease himself down to lay down. His stomach rumbled again, they had found some berries and fruit, but none of it was enough to fill him up. “Are we there yet?” He moaned pulling his shoes off slowly, “I don’t want to spend another night on the floor.” They had been walking for almost three days and so far Ryan had needed a rest almost every hour. Face it, he just wasn’t fit at all.

Chris rolled his eyes, he hadn't seen anyone walk this slow in a long time. What took himself sixteen hours to do, took Ryan more than two days, and they were still a few hours away at their current pace. "Yes, we are almost there. The town is just a few hours away. Chris sat down and let out a sigh. He didn't want to be anywhere near that place, know his luck the guards would probably find and attempt to capture him. Chris sat back and tried to ignore the pain from his wounds, he hurt himself pretty good. Chris just really wanted to be alone; he did not want anyone to see him like this, especially Damian, but his strong code of honour obligated him to help others out.

Ryan gave a groan while he rubbed his sore feet. "Ugh, I hope they have beds and food. I don't think I'm cut out for all this outdoor stuff." He rested himself against the tree, feeling the cool breeze against his hot feet. The man couldn't believe how hard this was on him, he had never known such exhaustion. Sure he's stayed up for a couple of nights without sleep with his mates and he's worked his butt off in some horrid jobs that made him mentally tired and aching for sleep, but this was something else intirely, and they've only been walking and sleeping in the woods. He wasn't running a marathon or anything!
"I don't know how you can keep walking like that, you've gone through a lot more then me, yet you still look ready to carry on and more." Ryan moved his head stiffly, it was painful just to move, but it hurt more not to move at all. He couldn't win.
He knew he had to get up, but he didn't want to. They only had a few hours to go. Do I really want to spend another night here? That had enough incentive for him to at least attempt to stand. He groaned, stretching his protesting muscles and put his trainers back on, all in a painfully slow manner.
Finally Ryan stood, he sighed. He couldn't be sure if his aching limbs were worse then the dull pain in his empty stomach. "Uh, would any of the villagers be out and about? How likely would it be for them to spot us?" He didn't think of this until now, but no doubt Ryan would become lost even if Christopher pointed out where to go, but he didn't want his only guide and friend in this place to be captured or worse.

"They have plenty of beds availible at the local inns, especially after all the others have taken off. Look for an old man with a feather in his cap anme Bones. He will point you in the right direction and may even get you an audience with the Baron." Chris said, hoping Ryan would be able to walk the rest of the way before stopping again.
When asked about villagers, Chris responded. "Actually, I don't really care at this point if they see me; they will probably run away in fear at the mere sight of me. If they happen to be guards, hunters, or criminals, I can take care of myself. I sized up the guards, and they didn't even appear to be one tenth the swordsman I am. I did not engage them becasue I didn't want anybody to get hurt."

Ryan just nodded in response, urging himself onwards, a meal and a bath sounded like heaven. He wasn't going to stop, oh no. He really wanted to get there before dark, he wanted to have a nice, hot meal and a nice hot bath and then snuggle down in a warm, soft bed. Tomorrow he will buy things for them to live on and maybe speak to the Baron.
“Uh, what would I say to the Baron if I did meet with him?” He asked, trying to keep up with Chris and to make conversation. He thought as much that the horse-man would be able to take care of himself, especially since they wouldn’t have guns, but although the city was where he really wanted to be, he did feel a pang of concern for the equine.

Chris said to Ryan as they continued to walk, "I am honestly not sure what to say nor make of the Baron. I never met him, and I am pretty much on the most wanted list for that particular city. Perhaps there is even a bounty on my head."
Chris continued on walking for the next few hours, trying to make it to town a couple hours before nightfall. At this point Chris didn't really care if anyone saw him or not. He was pretty much alone and unwanted in this world, even though someone was with him.
After a few hours, Chris came across a familiar sight; it was the road leading into Loghedge. He had traveled down this road a few times to gather ore and other materials for weapons crafting. Chris lead Ryan up the road, a bit off the side of it so that no one could see him easily."There it is, just up ahead along this road. Should only take you a few minutes more of walking to get into town. The Dragon's Eye Inn should be a few blocks down this road on your left hand side. That is where Bones usually hangs out. He should be there about now. If you get into trouble, I am not sure if you will be able to find me or not. I will just be hanging out around here for a few days. Then again, I will probably be able to see and hear you coming from quite a ways. Go on, before people see you with me.

"Oh." Was his response, maybe it'll be better not to mention his horse companion if he ever does meet up with the Baron.
Ryan followed Chris in silence, their steps in rhythm on the man-made road until they stopped. He looked up the road as his fellow traveler told him that was it. He nodded at the instructions warily. “Is Bones someone I can trust?” He asked, no use blabbing everything to someone who’ll happily get them locked away for life, but he knew the answer already. “I’ll be careful what I say anyway and won’t mention you, just in case. I’ll see you in a few days, hopefully with everything we need.”
Ryan set off down the road and gave a last glance back; he couldn’t see the horse man anymore, so continued on toward the city. It was more impressive then he first imagined for a city in the dark ages. Ryan gained a few looks and whispers as he huffed his way towards the Inn, but besides that his presence went mostly unnoticed. Were they used to travelers with strange garments coming through? It made him wonder just how many had come from Earth like him.
The Inn certainly had that Olde Worlde feel to it. A brief pause in conversation and a glance at the door was the only acknowledgement from the punters of him arriving before the humming started up again.
“Excuse me; do you have a room I can rent?” Ryan asked the burly man behind the bar. “Aye.” After paying for the board Ryan went straight up to his room. He decided to look for this ‘Bones’ person tomorrow.
He quickly feel fast to sleep as soon as his head hit the crude bed.
