Liana Lale wandered, wide-eyed, through the streets of the place that was now her new home.
She eyed everything observantly as she wandered, taking in the tiny details - the styles of the houses, the buildings, the flowers by the side of the road. It was all such a change from her former place of residence, and she relished it. There would surely be many, many things to learn and discover here, and she could hardly wait to begin finding them out.
Now, if only something would happen...

As she wanders, Liana starts to see the city streets turn into residential neighborhoods, and not long down this path, she feels a tug... it's someone's magic, for certain, but it feels as vivid as though someone reached out and grasped her shoulder, tugging her.
And then, she feels another.
And she realizes at that moment that an unseen force has been pulling her, as if by magnetic attraction, down the path she chose to turn onto not a block before.
She doesn't know what it is, and it might well be dangerous, but the compulsion is to follow it, and it is hers to decide.

Liana shifted her shoulders, testing out this odd feeling. It was gentle, but persistent and solid. Another person might have found it perhaps to be annoying, but not Liana.
I wanted something to happen, after all, she thought, And this definitely qualifies!
She relaxed into the tug, and let it pull her along to its intended destination, whatever that might be.

The tug pulls her along, stronger the closer she feels she gets.
She turns another corner, and realizes it is coming from the Crosshaven Labs, a relatively normal looking building. As she draws up to the doors, the tug takes auditory form, and she hears a voiced phrase: "...help, good woman....please help."
The doors are sealed, and keycard protected, covered by security cameras. But the voice is weak and frantic.

Liana jumped, startled. Who said that?!
The voice sounded again. Help me, please...
What can I do? Liana looked about, taking in the sealed doors, the cameras. How can I get in?

The cameras suddenly look away, and the doors give open with a sound like a sigh. The smell of chemicals and sterile equipment carries to her.
She has a feeling that it would be illegal to enter... and the voice has disappeared, but the tug is still there.

"Ah!" she exclaims softly. She would have liked to shriek, but knew that this was not the time to be calling the sort of attention to herself that shrieking would have brought on.
She turned in the direction of the person who pushed her. "What'dja do that for?!" she muttered.

The tug is coming from a specific hall, and the voice finds her again. Cross of Life and Death "Good woman, will you come for me? I am imprisoned against my will... please, come for me.... Since this is telepathically conveyed, Aveto is not present of it, but he senses as soon as he is inside the facility that there is something unsettling going on here... it feels like great power plugged up inside a bottle.

"I'm coming," Liana mutters, disregarding the person who pushed her for the moment. She was a sensible person, really, but someone was asking her for help and she couldn't exactly refuse.
"I'll get you out, just let me find you..." She headed down the hallway where the tug was strongest, loking for the source of the call.

She turns a corner into a secure area, and she sees several security guards, a woman in a labcoat, and a young man dressed in official clothes of some sort... and there, on the hospital bed behind them, is a young man, restrained to the bed, pale and weak looking, wrapped in blankets. When she peeks around the corner he makes eye contact with her. She sees in him, in that instant, a sublime goodness. Cross of Life and Death Liana... Stay hidden, Liana. Don't let them see you. The man, in orange, he is the governor. The woman, she is a physician, I think... please stay low. There must.. be a key to my restraints, I know not where... Liana sees no keys, but there is a security nook just off from the room... the restraints are mechanical, and probably controlled from there. But there are two security guards inside. ((Continue in the thread Crosshaven Labs, for now?))

Aveto sees the man too, and the man makes eye contact with him as well, even though he is hidden, he seems to see him. And he looks gently and pleadingly at Aveto, to help Liana help him.

Liana made sure to stay well out of sight, and analyzed the situation. The young man had been the one asking for her help, and she'd promised she woud help him. She wasn't going to go back on her word, but this was going to take some careful planning.
He didn't look like he'd be very capable of running off, even if she undid the restraints, so that would probably leave her to handle transporting him. She could do it, but it woud be a bit unweildy and awkward enough that she didn't want to leave the success of the escape based solely on how fast she could run. That meant that brute force - breaking into the security cubicle, freeing the guy, and running like hell out of there before someone could stop her - was entirely out of the question.
This was going to take some strategy. First, there was the matter of those guards... she rummaged in her bag, and, finding a red rubber ball, she proceeded to throw it so that it ricocheted off the walls and down the corridor past the security nook. She heard a bit of a crashing sound as it hit soemthing it shouldn't have, and smiled in satisfaction.
((Sure, I suppose - they seem to be in the middle of something there, though, and I was hesitant to break in with something...))

(( I've managed to work this so that things are going on in the two threads simultaneously. 3nodding It's up to you. It's ok if you want to stay in this one, but since it's the same scene, and the same place, feel free to make your next post in the Labs thread. ))
Her trick seems to be working, at first. One of the guards watching the security station heads off to investigate the noise. The other momentarily looks distracted.
Then, quite suddenly, both of them abandon the security station and enter the room where the one asking for her help is being kept. The security room is completely open....for the moment.
Inside, she finds all manners of controls, and most of them not labelled. There is also a plexiglass window opening into the other room, that stares right down at the one whose voice she has been hearing.
She can see the others in the room surrounding a woman, while he lies restrained on the bed. The equipment over him... oh, god, it looks like it had been bolted into his head and only just now removed. Whoever this guy is, some people have gone to great lengths to restrain and sedate him.
