Lilianna stood in front of her full-length mirror and fussed with her new robes, unhappy with the way that they looked on her body. She had been fine with her ANBU clothing but her advisory team had insisted that she got used to wearing the Hokage robes now or else she would go outside stark-naked. That remark also made her rethink her plans for her speech. She winced slightly as she stared at her reflection, frowning at it a bit. "This...isn't going to work," she muttered to herself. "I am no Hokage."

"Don't worry. It will work out in the end," said a elder ladies voice and Lily glanced back to see one of the ladies on the council smiling up at her. "You just don't need to loose faith this early. Besides, just keep telling yourself why you wanted to become Hokage in the first place." The elder lady walked out of the room, humming to herself.

Lilianna turned her attention back to the mirror and frowned at her reflection again. She heeded the old woman's words but she still had a small hint of doubt in her heart. How could she make a good Hokage when she didn't even know what the hell she was doing in the first place? She had entered the competition on a whim, not really knowing if she would win or not. When the competition narrowed down to her and two other men she had figured that the men would win since men could lead better than woman-at least that was what she figured. She was rather shocked when the results came back with her being the winner.

Not being a spoil-sport, she had congratulated the two men who had ran against her, a slight smile on her face. She bet the other two were surprised that she had won, too. She secretly wanted everyone to re-vote for Hokage but in her heart she knew that she had won fair and square.

A knock on the doorframe announced that someone was there waiting for her. She turned her head to see the old woman standing in the doorway with a big grin on her face. "It is time, Lady Hokage. Come now. Let's not disappoint the crowd." Lily nodded her head stiffly, took one last glance at the mirror, before walking behind the old woman to the balcony. It felt as if her legs had turned to lead-they wouldn't cooperate very well with her.

After what seemed like hour, she finally made it to the balcony. Shaking ever so slightly from her head down to her toes, she walked out onto the balcony and winced slightly as the crowd below her began to cheer excitedly. She hid her fear behind a still mask and gave the crowd a small smile.

"Here she is-your new Hokage!" said an unknown voice from someplace above her. The old woman beside her gave her a quick nudge in her ribs and she raised a hand and waved it at the crowd.
