Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

Personally, I would prefer the end to be in ice-- You can always put more clothes on, but there's a limit to what you can take off! On the other hand, "The Spirit of God like a fire is burning," so from what I know of God, He will end the world in what will feel like fire to any who are still terrestrial at the time.
