I have a feeling most of you don't have a clue on what sort of religion you guys would stick onto yet... but if you do please share why. If you don't, do the same and share why you chose not too. It'd be interesting to see the reason behind what we believe, no?

P.S. feel like I've heard too little from those with a solid belief on a religion. It be nice to hear from them more often. Although, everyone is welcome!

My solid belief is "I don't care". And no, I'm not trying to be a smartass here. I honestly don't. There are enough things in the world that concern me that I don't need another one to take seriously. The questions I ask in regards to religion are usually to blow off steam and learn about people.

If god exists, so what?
If nirvana can be attained, why should I bother?
Why should I want to be saved anyway?

I guess you could say I'm spiritually lazy. Somehow, there's even beauty in being petty about the stupidest things.

I believe that my senses can be trusted because when I act upon information gained from my senses, things tend to work out. It works in part because I have multiple senses with which to confirm things and weed out misinterpretations.

Unless your senses are at fault.

Well, what gets you by is probably of more importance to you than whether or not there truly IS something. Probably. xd

I am a Priest of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and am therefore also a respresentative of the Lord Jesus Christ himself. I know that this is the true Church because of its simplicity. I will list the 13 Articles of Faith, explaining a couple that I feel expedient to expound upon.

I believe in God the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost. I know that They aren't one nebulous being, but are in fact three separate and distinct Personages, who make up one Godhead, the purpose of which is to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man. Oh, and usually when the scriptures mention "God," they're talking about Christ.

I believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam's transgression. As in Adam all die, so in Christ shall all be made alive.

I believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel. If you do what God tells you to, you will be blessed.

I believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.

I believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God who restored the Gospel in this dispensation.

I believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth. I sustain the General Authorities as they are. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is the living prophet on the earth today, and he represents the Lord to mankind.

I believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.

I believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; I also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God. The King James translation of the Bible is the most correct, and if you get one with LDS cross-references, you'll find many Joseph Smith Translations, which shed some light on some dim subjects.

I believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and I believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God. It is our job to build the Kingdom of God on the earth.

I believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory. And humans who follow the Word of God will receive their paradisiacal glory, as well.

I claim the privelege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of my own conscience, and allow men the same privelege, let them worship how, where, or what they may. This same privilege is granted in the Constitution, which President Smith acknowledged as a perfect document.

I believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.

I believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, one may say that I follow the admonition of Paul--I believe all things, I hope all things, I have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, I seek after these things.

You have questions. I have answers. But I can't give you the answers until you give me the questions! So ask, and ye shall receive. Or, if I'm not fast enough, visit mormon.org and/or lds.org to find faster answers to your questions. Or talk to members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in your area--there are some 14 million of us around the world, you should be able to find one or two close by. The Lord has given you ways to learn what I know, if only you will use them!
