What would a B/C shop based around Aeons be without a battle arena?

While most of the time you'll probably be roleplaying your Aeons on the Farplane, that doesn't mean they don't get into disputes, and that they aren't occasionally called into battle by their Summoners. When this happens, it's much more fair and fun to do in in the battle subforum!

In the following posts, you'll see starting statistics for Aeons, as well as their attacks, how much they take away, and the requirements that need to be met in order to land a hit - or even get a critical! Sometimes, if the battle has gone on long enough, your Aeon will reach their Overdrive, and that's also explained in greater detail.

Remember, as with anything, be polite and courteous toward one another while battling in the forums. It makes sense that Summoners would be facing off against one another because, as the threat of Sin is still new, there is still the hope that it can be vanquished for good, and all want that glory for themselves.

It is highly suggested that, unless you have clear and prior agreement of who is going to win a fight, whenever two Summoners or two Aeons engage in battle, you bring it here. It may not seem like such a big deal, but this eliminates god-modding and the like. Of course, "rigging" battles for character development is totally allowed.

LEVELING UP

Once you win 10 battles, your Aeon will go up a level. This will result in a stat increase. The specific numbers are listed below.

In order to level up your Aeon, you will need to send a PM to the staff account _______ listing the name of your Aeon and providing links to all ten battles that you won in the guild. The staff member will update the main page of your journal ASAP, and only after you get your journal updated will you be allowed to begin battling with your new stats.

Lv 01 → Lv 02: 10% increase to stats
Lv 02 → Lv 03: 15% increase to stats
Lv 03 → Lv 04: 20% increase to stats
Lv 04 → Lv 05: 25% increase to stats
Lv 05 → Lv 06: 30% increase to stats
Lv 06 → Lv 07: 35% increase to stats
Lv 07 → Lv 08: 40% increase to stats
Lv 08 → Lv 09: 45% increase to stats
Lv 09 → Lv 10: 50% increase to stats

BATTLE TACTICS

Battling is actually very simple. At the beginning of battle, each person will go to their journal and copy the Aeon's stats that they're using to battle, and will paste them in the battle for everyone to see. Once both sets of stats are provided, both participants will roll one 10-sided die; whoever gets the higher number gets to attack first.

Battles will last until one Aeon reaches zero HP. At that point, the battle is over, and it should be logged in the journal for both the victor and the loser.

For actual battle, there are only two dice that will be used: the 10-sided die and the 100-sided die. For the beginning of each turn, it must be the 10-sided die that is rolled.

If you roll 1, 2, or 3, the attack misses. No damage is taken by the opponent.

If you roll 4 or 5 attack one hits for regular damage.

If you roll 6 or 7, attack two hits for regular damage.

If you roll 8, attack one hits for critical damage.

If you roll 9, attack two hits for critical damage.

If you roll 10, you get the chance to go for overdrive. You will post again before the other person posts; this is the only time you will be allowed to make two posts in a row in battle.

In order to try for an overdrive, you must roll a 100-sided die. If the number is 1 to 50, you do not achieve overdrive. The attack hits for critical damage. If the number is 51 to 100, you successfully executed an overdrive.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

As questions are posed and answered they will be logged here for everyone to see.

Can I battle my own two Aeons?

Sure. Just make sure you follow the rules of battle, and make note that you can only level them up one level at a time on your own - so if your Shiva and Ifrit are battling and the Shiva wins ten times, she gets a level up. You keep battling, and the Ifrit wins ten times, he gets a level up. However, even if the Shiva won fifteen times on the way to the Ifrit's ten, you may only get one level for your Shiva until he or she gains a level by fighting someone else's Aeon.
