At the lower levels of the village, the rocky ridges return to sloping hills that hold many expansive farms. At the top of a hill - tall enough that one can see Northwood from it- (that is between several good sided farms) there is a well-built and neatly painted house that holds it's own smaller fields. However these particular fields are diferent form the rest, and hold relatively advanced training equipment - with each field serving a different task. This is the home of Gregory the Weapons Master, who is willing to take on students.... Weapons Master Training[Warrior Class] If you complete the training you get... - [+5] stats - +2 in hp, +3 in strength, defence, speed, accuracy - default weapon automatic upgrade - +2 damage to attack score dice roll in melee combat - two trait skills > Spin Slash An effective attack that deals damage to multiple enemies surrounding your character. Deals dice roll damage(include + bonus) plus 1 damage for every monster around you. > Shockwave Finisher A finishing move that sends a shockwave upon slamming/stabbing the ground with your chosen weapon. Dice roll damage. Special = roll star die. If even, monster(s) is/are KO'd. If odd and above 3, deals half the damage left to the monster. This can only be done after you have attacked normaly 3 times.
A newly trained Weapons Master gets a choice of ONE weapon:
Level: 2 Weapon: Scythe Type: melee Description: An old weapon, originally thought to be created for farming purposes. It has been depicted as Death's main weapon over the centuries. superior mobility in tight situations. Dice to be rolled: two orange Other: +1 speed and accuracy
Level: 2 Weapon: Cresent Halberd Type: melee Description: A long pole, with a short, cresent-shaped blade at the end. Related more toward the spear, it is most definitely more deadly than it's older brother. Favorable with gaurds and frontline soldiers, and is used for direct attacks only, but leaves you open and vulnerable. Accuracy is key, here. Dice to be rolled: two orange Other: +1 accuracy
Level: 2 Weapon: Dwarven Battle Axe Type: melee Description: An unfitting name, really. An axe on one end, a hammer on the other, it is a weapon clearly meant for decapitating or smashing heads of foes. While speed may be a problem, there is no doubt about strength. Dice to be rolled: one orange, one red Other: +1 strength
Level: 2 Weapon: Double-sided Elven Blade Type: melee Description: It is thought an elven bladesmith thought up this weapon of wonder. Two blades are placed on both ends of the handle, making it doubly effective and dangerous. speed is an advantage with this weapon. Dice to be rolled: to orange Other: +1 speed
Quote: ~ Dice Roll Testing ~Alrighty then! dice roll testing is in action now. The rules are simple. For the exercises, you use one ten sided dice roll. -If the roll is five or above, that is your score of efficiency. -If the score is three or lower, multiply that number by two. -If your number is four, oh well, you suck. xp
The scores are as follows. -2: FAIL -3: Free Pass! -4: under expectations -5: barely passable -6: passed -7: exceptional -8: well done -9: exellent -10: superior
Have fun with this. For the tests, simply multiply the number by ten and you will have whatever the number is. For example, push-ups. you roll a 6, multiply it by ten, and you get sixty, the number of push-ups. ~ Summaries ~After just arriving To Dwstein, Vence and Felix travel up to Gregory, the Weapons Master's house and training grounds. Gregory, having heard of these visitors from some reliable sources, was already for them. After some quick introductions, Gregory explains some of the basics of training under him as a Weapons Master, Before giving them the first of two tests. He asks three questions to our young heros.
1: Why are you here? 2: What do you expect to learn? 3: What will you do if you fail?
These seemingly simple questions put Vence and Felix to the test. Depending on their answers determines whether they train under Gregory or not. After taking some time to answer these questions, Gregory announces to them that they both pass the first test. Brightened greatly by this news, Vence and Felix return to the main town of Dwstein, to return tomorrow...

After hiking up the hill again to get to the weapons master training, Felix was feeling optimistic. He reached the house and knocke don the door, awaiting a response.

Vence walked with Felix, slightly behind. Once again, he was feeling slightly nervous, but excited. What sort of test were they going to do today?
Felix had knocked on the door and stepped back. This was it. Vence put on a small smile.
Gregory was reading a novel in his sitting room when he heard the knock at the door. He glanced over outside, and nodded. Right on time. Early, in fact.
He stood up, and went over to the door to open it himself, rather than wait for his servant.
"Good morning, you two. Please, come in." He stepped aside and held the door open wider for them.

Felix smiled and nodded his head in repsect. "Good morning, sir." He stepped in and cast an eye around the house agin, hoping he wouls soon get used to it. he expected they would be here for a while if Gregory was going to train them well. he scratched absently at the striped on his arm, waiting for instructions and feeling a little like an intruder (or guest) still.

"Thank you, and good morning," Vence said, bowing his head lightly in resect as he stepped inside.
"Well now, I hope you two had a good night's sleep and a decent breakfast; I daresay you'll need it. Today is the second part of your test, as you already know. And today is going to involve some physical activity."

"Part of the reason, of course. If you will follow me, I will lead you to where we will begin." Gregory beckoned the two of them as he turned and headed into the room. On the other side of the room, daylight poured in from the glass wall. Gregory opened a well hidden glass door and held it open for the two of them. Beyond the glass, a fairly decent sized courtyard dominated the area. Along the walls were some bushes, gardens, stands(for competitions held once in a great while) and weapon racks. Around the field, some painted grass outlined different sections. The border was obviously supposed to be a track, while the inside held separate sections for all manners of activities.
"Here is where we will begin. You may place down your equipment anywhere you please, as you will not be using it yet."
Vence nodded his head in understanding, already unbuckling his equipment belt and removing his sword from his back.

Felix stood and surveyed everything, his eyebrows raised in admiration. He then nodded and uhooked his bostaff from around his back and placed it down, shortly followed by his axe. While he was physically strong it was nevertheless a relief not to haul around the heavy dwarven axe. That passing thought amused him. Maybe freedom was making him lazy.

Gregory waited patiently for the two to ready themselves. It took only about a minute for them, but he decided to give the two a few extra minutes, to better prepare themselves mentally: calm themselves down a little, focus on their goal. At least, that's what he hoped they would use the time for.
"Alright now, it is time to begin your second test. As I said before, we'll be doing more physical work. I will show you how to do a few basic stretches, which will help, and possibly hurt mind, and after a short break, I will test you on certain physical activities. For stretches, the name says it all. You will be stretching almost every muscle used to perform daily activities. The physical activities will include how many pull-up's, sit-up's, and push-up's you can do, how fast you can run a mile, and last, a short, but difficult obstacle course. There will be a two minute break between these, and a ten minute break between the mile and the course. Any questions?"
Vence listened to the lecture the Weapons Master gave, and was slightly more nervous now. The stretches he would probably do fine at; he had always been a flexible person. As for the "physical activities," he wasn't so sure about.
[Don't worry about how do we count. I got it covored, and will explain when we need it. 3nodding ]

Felix nodded. He was intrigued as to how much Gregory would expect, but was confident in his own body. Pain wans't much of a problem for him either, and it would hardly intimidate him. he rotated his shoudlers a little and loked over at Vence who had a thinly veiled look of nerves on his face. he winked at him.

[Dice roll time. 3nodding I'll explain the rules in a moment.] Vence glanced at Felix, and smiled a little at the encouragement. His chances of passing were good, so why should he worry? "Alright then, seeing as you are ready, we will begin," Gregory spoke up, adding a commanding note into his voice.
"First, as I said, basic stretches. The fist is, I would consider, THE most basic. Just reach down, without bending your knees, and try to touch your toes. I dont mean go past your knees either, I mean touch your toes or further. If you can place your palm on the ground that's fine."Quote: Alrighty then! dice roll testing is in action now. The rules are simple. For the exercises, you use one ten sided dice roll. -If the roll is five or above, that is your score of efficiency. -If the score is three or lower, multiply that number by two. -If your number is four, oh well, you suck. xp The scores are as follows. -2: FAIL-4: under expectations -5: barely passable -6: passed -7: exceptional -8: well done -9: exellent -10: superior Have fun with this. Vence stretched his arms a little before attempting the stretch. This one was easy, but would he pass it? He bent down, keeping his legs straight... [Of course I get the second worst number. stare ] [Four = under expectations.] ...And onnly got just passed his knees, before his back suddenly pained him. "Damn it," Vence said, through clenched teeth. He stood up again, this time holding his back. "I think I strained something." "I can tell," Gregory said, slightly surprised. He had expected this kid to do better. Then again, he had seen athletes come here and not pass. Usually it was due to lack of preparation.
"Don't worry, you will have a second chance to try any of these tests again, but only once."

[ooh I have to do these in karate. after a few times I can usually get my palms on the ground....just. usually it's knuckles, but always fingers on te 1st go -haha 3nodding ]
Felix blinked. Fair enough, it was basic. he didn't really take it as a challenge and shrugged, bending over and hoding out his hands, casting a mildly embarassed look over at Vence...
...He stretched and nudged forwards and tensed up as he treid ot get as far as he could - which idn't help matters. he barely amanged to touch his feet and snorted in disgust at himslef. Admittedly, he naturally stood on his toes, so was wearing heeled boots, but he thought that taking them off to go flat-footed would be somewhat accepting defeat. "uh..."he flsuhed a little in embarassment. "I, uh, could take my boots off I guess."

[i do them in gym, and for fun. I always get my palms on the ground every time, even with a book under me. I'm apparently eerily flexible, both for my age and gender. sweatdrop ]
"That may be recamended as well," Gregory said, a small smile of amusement playing across his face. he had forgotten the fact that Moonmaw wore heels.
"Did better than me, much to my embarrasement," Vence sighed.

[Cool smile I thin I'm most flexible when you sit cross-legged. Or, rather, you put the soles of your feet together and pull them to your crotch and try push your legs down. I always get my legs flat on the floor.]

Felix gave a vauge laugh and balanced on one leg each in turn to tug off his boots. "Hey, you can't be good at everything. The more you warm up, the more flexible you get." Felix said to vence, discarding his boots over with his staff and axe. "After you've run around a bit I bet you'll be better."
