There are several other movies than the musical. Which one do you like the best?

I rather liked the Lon Chaney one and the Charles Dance ones, personally. Phantom of the Paradise was not too bad either if one could realize one ought to not to take it seriously. The rest should have stopped while they were ahead, I think.
Though, to be unconventional, I'd like to say I rather enjoyed the David Staller one the most.

oh ya.......so i went to this halloween party, and we watched a version of the poto that i hadn't seen before.......IT WAS MESSED UP. i do not know who the phantom was, but i do remember that the story line, as well as the character names and such were completely different (example: the phantom's face was destroyed by acid?)........which version am i referring to?

That sounds like the Claude Rain version or the Herbert Lom version. You'd have to be more specific than that in order to diferrentiate, though.

well it was old.......but still color. the phantom didn't sing; he was portrayed as more of a musical genius than the "Angel of Music", and unlike the Leroux version, he was depicted as a deformed person (like in the Webber version); not a living corpse. if i remember correctly, his mask was a full-face mask (white), and the movie ended with him dying (the chandelier fell on top of him). i dont think that the phantom was necessarily in love with christine, just her voice. also, the phantom lived under the opera house with a sort of henchman, i cant remember his name.

*angry* I haven't seen any other than Joel Schumaker's winkwinknudgenudge excuse for a movie.... I hear the silent film has the most infamous unmasking scene!

What's amusing about the unmasking scene in the 1925 film is that the shot they eventually used was actually an outake.
This has been Useless Trivia with Fuoko. Thank you.

I've only seen the Lon Chaney and Gerard Bulter versions, though I would like to see some of the others.

I've only seen the Joel Schumaker ( heart ) and the Robert Englund versions ( gonk ) the whole way through. I did see a little bit of what I think was the Claude Rain (sp) version when I was little.
