The Rules And Regulations:
While in the Pokémon: Gaia Region Guild, you are expected to follow the following rules:
Gaia's ToS and R&G
Gaia's Terms of Service and Rules and Guidelines should ALWAYS be adhered to. Follow them or face the consequences. The ToS and R&G will be enforced.
Conduct
Be respectful to each other. Do NOT flame, yell, harrass, or be hurtful to anyone else in the RP Fellowship Guild. This includes guild members, Gaia Staff members, oldbies, newbies, and everyone in between. If you feel like you simply cannot post anything nice, then please just refrain from posting.
Post in the Appropriate Place
Each subforum has a description alerting you to what does and does not belong there. While Moderators do have the ability to move topics between the subforums, habitual posting in the wrong subforums by any member is wrong and will be considered spam. With the addition of the new subforums it can get a little tricky, but they're pretty self explanatory. Please use the subforums to keep the clutter down. If you'd like a thread moved, please PM any GGN Dedicated Moderator to let us know.
Learn to Search
We frown upon what we call "repeat topics", "dead horse topics", "zombie", or "necro threads" in this guild. In short, some topics just have a way of rearing their ugly heads over and over. Please learn to search! Just take a few moments to look through the first few pages to see if your topic/question has already been addressed in another thread or a sticky. If it has, then READ/POST IN THAT THREAD. If it has not, then go ahead and create your topic. Learning to search will enable us to prevent having multiple threads on one topic, thus helping the guild run more smoothly.
Netiquette
The Pokémon: Gaia Region Guild is meant to be a safe haven and resource to all RPers. Please be respectful of your fellow members… old or new. Avoid posting repeat topics or threads and type utilizing proper English. Common mistakes will not be reportable but should a member be believed to be using improper grammar on purpose, disciplinary methods may be employed.
Bumping
While bumping your topic IS allowed, we ask that you only bump if your topic has fallen off the first index page and is still unanswered. If everything goes well and your Thread is running fine, Bumping will not be needed.
Attempt to Use Proper English
We aren't English and Grammar teachers, and we understand that some people aren't native speakers of English while others simply aren't good at punctuation. We don't expect perfection, but we do expect an honest effort. If you are not a good speller, type your posts into a word-processing program and spell-check them before posting them. In addition, no netspeak or leetspeak will be tolerated, nor will various "cute" styles of posting such as aLtErNaTiNg CaPs, bolding or italicizing entire posts (to the point where it hurts to read it), or never-ending strings of emoticons. Compliance with this rule will make life a lot easier for our population as well as Moderators. Not to mention it will help all of us understand what you're trying to say! We can't help you if we can't understand you!
Stay On Topic
Hi-jacking threads and dragging them off-topic for your own purposes will not be tolerated. It is natural for discussions to evolve. It is not natural for them to take 90-degree turns on a dime into a completely unrelated direction just because you feel like it.
Read the FAQ & Info Stickies and Posts
The Pokémon: Gaia Region Guild FAQ and other informative stickies and posts will answer a myriad of questions. Read them before you start asking questions. As a member of the Pokémon: Gaia Region Guild, you are expected to familiarize yourself with ALL announcements, stickies, and FAQs.
Do not God Mod or Power Play
When it comes to RPing, this is one of the worst offenses you can commit against the Creator and players of an RP.
God Moding will be defined as when someone’s character has the ability to do practically anything without limits or boundaries. Power Play includes posting actions of other characters wihtout their player's authorization, or making other characters weak or performing actions that are not native to them without their player's authorization, specially if the player has made clear that characters personality and traits.
If you are a player and you have noticed God Moding or Power Play, report it to the creator and do not advance the RP Plot anymore. If you are a creator, Stop the RP and request that the player edit his/her post before you can continue. If the threat of God Moding or Power Play goes on because the player refuses to repost or stop doing so, report it to the crew at the Help Line. Warning! God Moding and Power Play is a high offense that could earn a member a ban from the guild.
No Cybering!
Cybering, or other forms of sexual situations, are not allowed on Gaia. If you promote or encourage people to cyber either in the forums or by PM then you run the risk of loosing and receiving at least a warning, extending to a Guild Ban.
It should also be noted that posting nude images or images that are particularly vulgar or gory are also not allowed.
No Abusive Comments
This includes abusive comments to other users, flaming, trolling, harassment and stalking. You are allowed to swear on Gaia and the Guild, but you are not allowed to insult other users, or start trouble. If you are found doing this you will be punished. We cannot stress how important this rule is.
No spam
Spam can be many things, it can be simply an unwanted bump, intrusive comment, causing the page to scroll sideways, excessively long "bumps for gold" or gibberish; these are but a few examples. Either way, none of these are welcome in the Guild; if you wish to spam then please do so in the Chatterbox.
No hate threads
Hate threads that are directed towards a Gaia user or Guild Member, race, ethnicity or sexual orientation are not allowed on Gaia or this Guild. These hate threads that are found will be removed and the owner punished.
However, you are allowed to create a hate thread that is directed to an object, such as books, movies, or similar things.
We understand some rules repeat some of the content of others. This shows you how important it is to us that you follow a specific rule.
The Rules and Regulations could be updated as new events unfold within the Guild. Maintain an eye on the Readerboard for any notice that the Rules have been updated.
