Is it possible to stop poverty? without resorting to communism...
Is it? and if u think yes please tell me why If not why not..

Anything is possible!
No matter how negative society can make the positive look!
Any why should poverty be considered a bad thing?
because we are shown on TV and ads to live glamorously?
eff that shiz.

Eliminate money so there would be no need. Then people would trade things based on what they think they are worth.

You can get out of your own poverty, if the economy is going good, and you are willing to work your a** off and save like crazy. My pops family, legally immigrated here from canada, and went from dirt poor to pretty well off. And mind you there was 9 kids besides pops, so that could not have been easy at all. Same as my familly really, we started out living in a druggy neighborhood, one bedroom apartment, and pops busted his a** doing hardwood floors, and slowly brought us up. Now that the real estate is shot, so is our job. When the economy was good, and houses were going up left and right, we were taking in lots of money. We could afford the rediculous mortgage, taxes and utilities; By simply working 10-14 hours a day. When work is not available, we don't have that option. That is what kills blue collar families, they are willing to work crazy hours to pay the bills if necissary, but when work is scarce, WTF are they supposed to do?

Well, look at it this way. People are greedy and only want for themselves no matter how much other people suffer. As long as Jealousy and greed exist, I don't see how poverty will not exist just from the sheer fact of people hoarding all they can get for themselves and always stealing from others. Eh, it's just a take on the topic.

The World Watcher No, some people don't care for others, and some don't care for themselves. Mostly agree. We can lower poverty to be much more than it is now. I wonder though about overpopulation, I mean its pretty bad as is. I think everything happens for a reason, and things can be much worse. I believe loving myself and teaching others to love themselves. That may include helping others get food, or not, depends on the situation I think.

I doubt it'll ever be gotten rid of completely, but there's a lot that can be done to reduce it.

Countries that liberalise their markets and open to free trade, even as third world countries, almost invariably modernise, industrialise if they haven't done so, and reduce poverty dramatically. The stories of Chile, South Korea and the recovery of Germany are a testament to this.
I don't know if poverty can be totally eliminated, and resorting to communism will certainly not resolve the issue, but by encouraging free trade and mutual development we can definitely improve the numbers.

I don't know if poverty can be totally eliminated, and resorting to communism will certainly not resolve the issue, but by encouraging free trade and mutual development we can definitely improve the numbers. Not to start up a Communism vs. Capitalism here, but point out a statement of agreement. Even in a Communist economy, poverty will not be completely wiped out. There will be those that do not seek to do their part, and there may exist times when resources are not in abundance and must be used and spent where needed most to keep the nation, collectives, union or whatever the group is defined as, going. On the plus side, seeking to create an abundance of created goods and keep said surplus could also assist in the creation of more jobs ie wood products churned in factories in relation to more jobs needed to create tree farms and keep existing forests alive and well. But poverty will always exist to some extent. Some simply do not want to work for themselves, and would rather have things handed to them. It is for this reason that we have the level of "poor" families in this country we do today. If Social Security were more selective, I feel we could reduce the level of poverty and put the nation to work if we focused more on creating new projects. The U.S. could certainly use more cultural creations instead of sports stadiums and Disney Land/World. But this is another matter in and of itself.
