Just after school today I was standing by my friend and a bunch of our other friends and all of a sudden my friend goes 'I told my boyfriend that I stopped making myself throw up, but I didn't.' I didn't say anything when she told me that, but I called her about ten minutes ago.

She was like 'yeah I did, but I'm stopping.'
And I was like 'you just said that you weren't.'
Her: 'Well, I'm stopping now.'
Me: 'Why are you doing it anyway?
Her: 'Because I'm fat'
Me: 'No you're not! How long have you been doing it'
Her: 'About a month'

I don't know if this is another lie, attention seeking idea, or the truth. She already went through the 'OH GUYS LOOK! I cut myself last night' blah blah blah. All she did was go around showing EVERYONE and that ******** pissed me off. She doesn't know that I cut myself because of her big mouth.

I just don't know what to do. She tells everyone that she never eats, but she eats junk food for breakfast, junk food for lunch, and dinner. And she's still skinny. She needs to stop with this s**t. I haven't eaten breakfast in like seven years, I rarely eat lunch, and I eat dinner, and I'm not skinny. Sometimes she goes WAY over the top, and I don't know what to do!

What should I say to her?

Sounds to me like she is seeking attention... Which could either be becuase she loves to be in the lime light, or becuase she isn't getting enough attention at home.

As for what to do... Can't really tell you that. I do know that when people get too dramatic or are seeking attention too much, I eventually have to leave, becuase I cannot deal with them anymore. It gets so annoying, I hate being lied to, especially just so that someone can gain sympathy from me. But I don't know how much you can handle, how good of a friend she is to you, etc.

You don't say anything to this person. You simply direct that person to the school counselor, county mental health and whatever other resources you find appropriate, if you must deal with that person. Rather than calling this person an attention seeker, I'd call this person a highly disturbed individual and I don't presume to guess the causes of it, and neither should anyone but her headshrinker.
