For movies.. i love the exorcism of emily rose!! um i also liked THE REAPING.. and The Sixth Sense (more of a thriller though). I love thrillers more than plain old horror because, at least to me, they seem more realistic and therfore scare me more.. all the gruesome stuff doesn't seem scary to me for some reason.. entertaining for sure!! but not scary ...and i LOVE getting scared by movies eek whee
supernatural is cool.. but its starting to seem like all the same thing nowadays ghost whisperer is niccee!!

I kind of hop all over the place when it comes to horror xd I'm with Srestar on the bit about likign thrillers better than gorefests--even though some of the movies/series I mention do have their fair share, they're not ALL about the spatterfest (I haven't seen and don't want to see ANY of the "Saw" movies. *bleh*)
Anyway, here's a few of my favorites--
Authors: Stephen King (his earlier stuff more so than his later stuff) H.P. Lovecraft Clive Barker Neal Gaiman Robert Bloch
Movies: "The Blair Witch Project" "The Haunting" "The House on Haunted Hill" (original *and* remake) "Legend of Hell House" "In the Mouth of Madness" "Cloverfield" "Ju-On: The Grudge" "Silence of the Lambs" TV Series: "The Langoliers" "Kingdom Hospital" (another Stephen King project, though it's actually an adaptation of a series called "The Hospital")

hey KORI! I recommend giving SAW a chance because although it's gorey.. it is interesting because it's psychological. i do not know about the later ones, but i have seen one and two and they are pretty good!

Hmmmmm, well, I do like psychological terror... I forget who said it, but someone reasonably famous horror-wise (maybe Alfred Hitchcock) said that what is never shown is more frightening than what is shown. Meaning, of course, that our own minds can dream up worse nightmares than just about anything we see in reality. Seems to me my roomie has a copy of one of the SAW movies floating around, maybe I'll bug him to dig it up for me and watch it this weekend.

the ring (japanese and english version), omen, abandon, beetle juice (hated it, scared the heck out of me), 6th sense, ghost whisper, a haunting (on discovery channel)
I want to see push, haunting in conneticut, and the messenger. has anyone seen messenger yet? is it something anyone would recommend?
