The sun was no where to be found. Grey clouds smashed together, blotting out it's light thus giving that day a very dreary look. A soft and gentle breeze blew through the plains. bending the tall grasses just slightly and causing the leaves on the surrounding trees to rattle just slightly. A strong scent of water hung in the air signaling to all that the rains were coming and yet still someone wandered in silence. That someone was the cursed and undead cub born to Tyranny and Valora. Devin.

No heat from the sun, and no cold from the night. Strange weather. Perfect weather. If it wasn't for that horrible, vile stench. How he hated water. And the rain, for taking away the dust and ashes in the air, muting him. Setting in the silence. For the nameless cub, nothing was worse than the silence, a permanent, low sound similar to metal grating against metal following him like a cloud, particularly noticeable now as he awaited the rainfall in seething rage, mentally cursing at the skies. Even worse, he'd been caught outside the ashen haven of his pride den, cutting off his rampaging short. He'd just have to fry that meerkat colony some other day, they wouldn't be going anywhere. For now, the faceless cub just waited underneath a tree, waited for the moment the rain began falling unpaciently, so it could fall, stop, and thus his fun could go on.

A loud crack of thunder roared through the lands, it's power causing a vibration to dance deep within your guts. However Devin not falter, she continued her steady pace. She could smell the rain but she did not care that it would soon come. The weather that swirled around her mimicked her mood today. Why the hell was she still alive when she ought to be dead? Why would someone save such an ugly and cursed thing like her. Another boom of thunder roared loudly, pulling her from her thoughts and that's when she heard it. The thick current of rain coming right towards her, so she ran as fast as her legs could carry here. The smell of bark and sap caught her attention and so she made a sharp turn for the left and came to a skidding halt mere inches from hitting the trunk of the tree. She wasn't alone however, she could see their fate spilling from them in waves. So she peeked her head around and realized it was another cub.

"I wasn't aware that I was invading someones space."

The noise subsided into just a small, barely audible murmur as the rain began pounding the lands, the announcement of a new beginning for so many things. To him, it was but a hindrance and annoyance. His sound made sight became fuzzyer, splitting into every single drop bending every ingle blade of leaf, fogging the details of everything outside the lessened range of his noise cloud. Rain. Insult to injury in one inconvenient package. Maybe it would pass-

His faceless head instantly turned at the sound of Devin's voice. When did someone get here? Focusing on his blurred sight, the shade of another cub became evident amidst the foggy background, surprising him further and quelling any bloodlust that would have risen the instant he'd get wind of it. There was no heartbeat. The feeling her blood gave off would have been enough to draw him into massacre like a moth to fire, but... there was no heartbeat. That cub was dead, like him. So there were others?

The feeble noise began reorganizing itself, forming into a whispering voice, even though still very much allike metal grinding, ear wrecking. "It's not mine."

"Ah a fellow undead. I was beginning to think I was the only one. Have you a name stranger?"

Devin moved to sit next to the male, trying to sort out the flashing images of his fate. No luck. She needed to grip on her abilities and the sooner the better. Flashing images of the magnitude drained her significantly and disoriented her to no end.

(sorry it's so short...couldn't think of anything better))

"Perfect weapons have no name." It was the exact same answer he'd gotten from his mother when questioning her about why his sister had a name and he, well didn't. Faceless, Claw, Spooky, No Name. All the same, no value behind them, nothing that was his. No feelings. Just the certainty that war, violence and bloodshed made up his path. For he was a weapon. And that was what weapons did.

Ah, so he was being raised in that manner. Raised to be nothing more than a weapon whose sole purpose was to serve the owner or commander of that weapon. Well when home he could keep it that way but when around her he would have a name for he wasn't a weapon to her nor was he beneath her in stature. He was her equal and would be recognized as such if she had anything to do with it.

"Odd you'd say that because I see no weapon. I see my equal, not something beneath me in stature. So that brings me to wonder what I should call you. It's can't just be any name, it should be fitting..."

She pondered a while. Irritum could work for in a long forgotten tongue it meant nothingness and that fit his appearance. Then again it could also be used against him. What about...yes that would be perfect! Andras, Grand Marquis of Hell, that causes discord and quarrels. She was sure he'd like that.

"Mind if I call you Andras?"

That made his ears perk particularly and turn his faceless features to her, puzzling him for a brief moment. She didn't see him as a weapon? Or a freak for that matter? Well, that was new. The surprise soon faded though, as another thought crossed his mind. He hadn't done it to her. Then again, what was the point of attacking something that was already dead? Still, point was this other cub hadn't witnessed him doing what he did best. And what he thought himself capable of, only. If she did, odds were she'd change her mind quickly.

"If you want. It's your call." Just another nickname. Though it did sound pleasing to the ear. But for how long would it be used? How long'd she stick around to use it? Not much, he figured. No, no use into attaching himself to it... even if it was... tempting...

"So tell me Andras, what has brought you out here?"

She studied his form. He was being distant, keeping himself detached and for good reason. Why attach yourself to something that you didn't think would stick around. Well Devin wasn't like that. She may not be by his side at all times, but when she'd see him, she'd make her presence known.

With his clawed paw, Andras pointed over yonder, where the rain still deluged much to his displeasure. Keeping him from his mission, his purpose. If he couldn't do it, what else was there for him? Nothing. It didn't even cross his mind that there could be something else in his un-life other than the purpose his mother had given him. Nothing else had ever been shown, he wasn't even allowed a normal cub's life, unlike the others of the same age as him. All the playing he knew was murder and torture. "A meerkat colony."

"Sounds fun. Don't worry the rains will stop sooner than you think and you will have the pleasure of doing what you do best and it will be bloody."

She didn't need her 'sight' to see that much would happen. This was just one of those showers that came down hard only to stop soon after. But for now they'd have to wait it out so why not get to know him.

"So other than terrorizing meerkats, what else do you do to pass the time?"
PostPosted: Sun Mar 08, 2009 1:22 pm

"It's not for fun." It was stronger than him to end that temporary condition that is know as 'life', granted. As far as fun was concerned, it did get his blood running but, in a way, it felt like it wasn't him, like it was something else pulling the strings and driving him to do it.

"When I'm not in a mission to kill, I train to refine my skills at it. I don't have dead times..." he paused, facing the rain. "... usually. And it's all I can do."

"So you don't do anything for the enjoyment of it? Well that's going to change. Around your family you can be the weapon they want you to be, but around me I want you to have fun. Be a cub. When your around me you can shed your armor and be a weapon no more without being judged."
PostPosted: Sun Mar 08, 2009 1:50 pm

Well that was something new... No one'd told him something like that, that he could have it. Fun. Whatever it was. Hadn't really thought about it. As Andras mulled it over, all that could be heard was the heavy rain and his feeble cloud of screechy noise. Should he really do it? This was all extremely confusing. Here was a cub that had been raised to kill since birth, suddenly given an opportunity to do something else by another strange cub that, like him, had no heartbeat, no real life. One that he had absolutely no idea if he'd even see again, saying it was okay to do something else. Dead like him. Mmmh. Maybe she did have a clue about what she was saying...

"... How do I have fun?"

"It's easy really. Ok even though you kill the meerkats because it's your mission it still gets your blooding going. It's the thrill of overpowering them that drives you. That thrill is what fun is. So lets see, I'm thinking the rain throws off your senses right? Well what could be more challenging and more rewarding then having a little hunt in the rain. So lets make a game out of it. We hunt the meerkats in the rain. Who ever manages to snag the most wins."
