Alright, so all the Harry Potter books are out and it's time to get another good read. I'll admit that I'm not the biggest book fan in the world but I do pick up a few things. Lately it's been some of Judy Blume's books made for teens. One was about a 7th grader who was supposed to be a model but she wound up having scholiosis and now has to spend her next 4 years in a Milwake..... I forget the word.... brace that pretty much means she's in a metal cast that puts her back and neck perfectly strait instead of making the cheer leading squad. It's entertaining and I'm hoping I'm not violating any rules by making this thread. i'm also hoping someone replies to it.

The last Judy Blume book I read was Forever. I was surprised when my eighth grade teacher recommended it for us, and even more surprised when I found the book in my school library.

I didn't realize the school was allowed to carry books about teenagers with a sex life. So could anyone see how my virgin mind just got violated? Haha

It was still a good read though, no matter how awkward I felt. Finished that book in one day.

Ah well. You want a good read? Try reading books by Sarah Dessen. It's the best kind of books to read that involve coming of age. I have all her books, well almost all of them. I just need Dreamland (which is really sad) and my collection is done. My favorite out of all of them is Just Listen because the main male is my husband!

I read Forever and just like you was surprised my school library had it. It was a good book though. My favorite though is Witch of Blackbird Pond. I don't remember who it's by though. Her first name is Elizabeth though and it takes place in Conneticut before the Revelution.

OMG I LOVE SARAH DESSEN SO MUCH IT'S OBNOXIOUS!!!

Also, another good teen-friendly author is Patrick Jones. He writes books about teenagers living in the gritty underside of society and somehow coming through it on top. It's really inspiring, sad, and makes you appreciate everything you have. I'm currently reading Stolen Car; one out of his novels Cheated, Things Change, Nailed, and Chasing Tail Lights. Chasing Tail Lights is my favorite. ^^

Also today, I bought The Romanovs: The Final Chapter by Robert K. Massie and Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin. They're good so far ^^

I just bought Sarah Dessen's new book Along for the Ride.

I'm not going to read it yet because I have no time.

Bah! I just need Dreamland to finish my whole collection of her books!

T______T

LOL Mizu, I read Just Listen a total of seven times since the first time I read it. Read that book more times then I do the Harry Potter books.

And yes, Channing Tatum would be the perfect Owen. Although I'm not sure on who should play Annabel. Mandy Moore was already in a movie for two of Dessen's books and I'm not so into her being a blonde.

Is it weird to say that i've only read Just Listen because my lover isn't in any of her other books XD
Nah plus i heard that Just Listen was the best and already the beginning was slow for me in that book.
Hm what movies were those?Oh and i don't know who i'd want to play her either...i always saw her move of a brunette than a blond anyways...

read some Anne Rice books, she's good

Hmm...Let's see....

For older audiences, the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series by J.R. Ward is really good. It's a pretty good vampire series. It's in the romance section of the bookstore though, so that should give you a hint as to why it's for older audiences.

Hmm..Melissa de la Cruz has a decent series of vampire novels, the Blue Bloods series. It's a good quick read...though apparently it's now going to be like 17 books long..

For anyone who likes European history fictions...Phillippa Gregory is one of my favorites. She wrote The Other Boleyn Girl. It's a pretty good read.

FINALLY. XD Fire Study, Poison Study, and Fire Study written by Maria V. Snyder is a very good read as well. ^^

THEY'VE MADE MOVIES?!?! WHICH ONES!?!!?!

The movie How to Deal with Mandy Moore. The movie is actually a mix of two of her books Someone Like You and That Summer. A really good movie really.

I actually pictured Annabel as a blonde fully well. Maybe it's because most of Dessen's characters are blonde. I can't remember some of the books that had girls that were not blonde but I can remember Lock and Key because Cory {or whatever her name was} had red hair. Dunno.

I've wanted to read some Anne Rice books. But I lost interest in vampire books.

Ahh...well I love Lestat that's why...he is what keeps me interested in the vampire genera especially since the Twilight movies came out...but yes i'm on the first book, not very far but i've got to say, i like it.

Twilight....>.<

Ever since the movie came out, I've hated the series more and more.

Fangirls have a way of playing it out.

I love the whole inner theme that some don't really see beyond the whole human falls in love with a vampire crap, but the series has turned into a whole load of played out crap...sorry.

But you should keep reading it, and if you see the inner theme that I had seen, then I would love you forever. No joke. LOL

Oh yes i read the saga to that one...i have to admit, i did like that theme of a vampire that fell in love with a mortal but yes the movie did play a big part into why i can't stand it anymore.

anyways i wasn't sure if i mentioned this book or not and i'm too lazy to relook but read 'the perks of being a wallflower' by stephen chbosky.all i can say?...very thinkable...

[/gasp]

A friend of mine was reading that book for school last term.

He made me read the first few pages during Chemistry and I was like "Damn! That's intense."

It was almost like Go Ask Alice but not exactly. If that made any sense.

I dislike the "immortal falls in love with a mortal" theme. It's the most played out theme since...I have no idea. It's just a typical played out theme to me. Sorry to sound so horrible about it.

when you get the time to, read it.I love the poem that's in there...it made me think a lot...like a lot, every time i put the book down to eat or something my mind was thinking more deeper than anytime before.
