emanciptation is a legal process that gives a teenager who is 16 or older legal independence from his or her parents or guardians. what do you think should we have the option or not?

Yes, it should always be there for those that want to leave there home and try to live by themselves. Taking that away would be a big "******** YOU!" to one of the highest forms of freedom out there, saying "******** YOU!" to your parents and leaving.

Ummmm I thought teenagers ran away all the time. Wouldn't emancipation actually be more liberating for the parent? Usually parents are held responsible for their children's health and actions. I mean If a guy doesn't want to bother with his new wife's teenager he could just piss them off so that they go get emancipated. "No Martha, he wanted to leave, he is just going to have to make do on his own."
I mean, do sixteen-year-olds have the mental and emotional maturity to make a living? I can see life's problems closing in, I can see the teen running arround" OMG! OMG! WTF am I going to do? Why is everything so hard?!" I can see them joining gangs, becoming prostitutes, I can see them dead.
It's already happening now, why make it easier?
