She was hurt,
though the wounds never showed.
She was hurt by someone she knew,
someone she trusted.
She cried and cried,
but never told.
No one wold have believed her.
She vowed to herself,
she would never trust again.
She would not allow it,
such pain in her life.
She pushed everyone one away.
Kept them at a safe distance.
Put up walls,
wore masks,
became an empty shell.
And she was happy,
or so she thought.
No one could hurt her,
if they couldnt reach her,
if they couldnt find the real her.
She was cold,
bitter to the world.
She appeared to be warm,
but really she was frozen.
There was nothing to be done about it.
No way to get back,
back to the way she was, before.
The happy person that she was at one time.
She wanted to go back,
but was too afraid.
So there she remained,
stuck between what she was,
and what she wanted to be.
Until one day,
a stranger came along.
Wanting to be friendly,
but she reguarded him coldly.
Wanting nothing to with him.
But the stranger persisted.
He waited patiently.
Try after try he failed.
Yet still he tried.
This intrigued the girl.
Why did he try so hard?
Eventually, little by little,
she began to talk to the stranger.
Curious as to why he wanted to know her.
Suspicious at his claims to want to be a friend.
Each day they talked,
though it was very little.
Over time, though she did not want to,
she began to trust the man.
He never asked about her past,
or why she was so bitter.
He was honest in his claims,
she came to find out.
They talked more and more each day,
And she began to genuinly smile when he was near.
She came to care for him.
Though she tried not to show it,
it became obvious.
She was afraid,
would her new friend leave her?
So many others had,
why not he.
But no,
he did not leave.
He simply returned her soft smiles,
with one of his own.
She began to realize that he cared for her.
At least,
that was what she hoped for.
She eventually found the courage to ask him.
As she prepared herself for the worst,
he just smiled his sweet smile.
That was all she needed.
Her life had begun again.
She was given a chance to start over,
to trust again.
She nearly cried in that moment,
for she had been given something.
Something she thought she would never have.
A chance at love.

[ I like it, actually. I'm a romantic at heart, so to me, this is almost fairy tale like in nature, portraying someone that's searching for something incredibly rare and costly -- then being moved nearly to tears when she finds it.
In some ways, this poem matches my life somewhat. Good work! Keep posting... ]

The next ones that I will be posting is when I was seperated from the one that I love and was very depressed. No I am not suicidal anymore. I am quite happy with my life.

Looking at the stars,
memories come flooding back.
Mainly happy.
Some of them sad.
Tears fill my eyes,
as I remember.
Looking back now,
it all seems so far away.
Like it was another lifetime.
Wiping my eyes, I sigh.
Smiling I look up at the stars.
Funny thing is, we're looking at the same ones.

Defeted, broken, bleeding.
Nothing left but pain.
Laying on the cold floor,
given up.
No reason to continue.
So much pain.
Hurt,
becoming anger.
Dont want to be like this.
Dont want it to happen again.
Cold and ruthless.
Hate all life.
Bitter.
Changed back to before.
No going back.
Not going to try again.
Dead inside.
No heart.
Was broken to pieces.
Shattered.
Goes cold to the world.
No cares either way.
Darkness
Sweet, sweet darkness.
No pain, no hurt.
Just numb.
Comfortably, blissfully numb.
Nothing else.
No one else.
Just me,
and the darkness.

As these words flow from my lips,
I hope they reach your heart.
The come straight from mine,
they come easily and are true.
Life and love,
all I ever wished for.
I found them both in you.
Life, the most wonderful kind.
Full of happiness and joy.
Love, pure and true.
The strongest I have ever felt.
I dont know how it happened.
I dont care why.
You came into my life as a friend,
the closest I ever had.
You were there when I needed you.
There when you didnt have to be.
Even at three in the morning.
You made me laugh when the day was dark.
You were there when the night was long.

Told me it was going to be alright,
that this couldnt last for long.

I dont think you do.
But I'm not sure.
You loved me once,
long ago.
Do you still?
Im not sure.
I thought so,
but love is blind.
Leads you where it will.
Not caring if there is pain.
Sometimes the pain is unbearable.
So much so that you try to get rid of it.
But instead you cause more.
More blood, more tears.
Not understanding why.
Why wont the pain go away?
It is a part of you now.
All you know.
Love but so much pain.
One cannot be without the other.
At least not for you.
They go hand in hand.
Love and misery.
You know it should not be this way.
But you can find no other way.
No one who truly loves you.
So there you sit.
Alone and silent on the outside.
Dead and crying on the inside.
And nothing can be done about it.
Absolutly,
nothing at all.

Ok Guys Here Goes................. Autobiography Part 1
My story is a long one,
and some of it's difficult to tell.
But it's my story,
and I wish to tell it.
Perhaps this can help me, fill in the gaps of my memory,
perhaps not.
My birth was a simple one,
in Carlsbad, NM.
Born to a woman, Amanda,
and a man, Kenneth.
Named after a saint.
Middle named picked my my mother.
We were not rich.
We were poor ,
by the standards of society.
But we had each other,
that was all we needed.
We were rich,
by our standards.
We were a family,
a happy one.
Or so it seemed.
The man and wife,
they argued a lot.
And I was forced to watch.
They did not care who they were in front of.
I tried to make them stop,
but I was too little to do anything.
In the end,
all I could do was cry.
And no one noticed.
They seperated.
Went their own way.
I went with my dad.
Then there is a gap in my memory.
The next thing I remember,
was a very big event.
It was a sunny day.
I spent the night with my cousin, Ashley.
And I was told that I was that I would see my mom,
and I would get to have lunch with her he next day.
I was so excited.
I had not seen her in a few years,
and I sorely missed her.
I had seen her twice that day.
The first time,
She brought her dog with her.
It was a german shepard named Max.
He was the sweetest dog I had ever met.
Then she left,
said she would be back in an hour.
She drove off in a patchwork camero.
When she came back,
I was ready to go.
She said was going to meet someone.
Someone special to her.
Her new boyfriend.
We drove up to a mechanics shop,
thats where he worked.
His name was Randy.
I was nervous.
But it turned out that he did.
