I still haven't seen all of those movies yet and I've really wanted to see them!
I cannot pick favorites because Ill kick myself in the butt later if i forgot to add something super special.
One movie on my mind right now is HITCH. I loved that one!

eek Where to start? Okay... um.. categories. I will state for the record that I'm generally a sucker for horror movies, but I do watch other things too, honest. biggrin
Older Movies: North by Northwest(Hitchcock's best IMHO), Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (Gene Wilder was great in that, nothing against Johnny Depp though), The Wizard of Oz(c'mon. It's a total classic), Them! (one of the first of the B-movie "giant insects" genre and probably the most accurate, if you can have such a thing when we're talking insects the size of an F-150 truck), Legend of Hell House (Roddy McDowell as a psychic), Airplane! (one of The. Funniest. Spoofs. Ever.)
More Recent (as in within last 10 years or so recent): any of the "Harry Potter" movies, The Lord of the Rings (go Gimli!), A Knight's Tale (Heath Ledger, we miss ya), Cloverfield, The Blair Witch Project (Yes, it made me queasy in the theatre, but I thought it was an interesting new take on horror. Sequel was awful though), The Ring/Ringu and Ju-on: The Grudge (preferred the Japanese versions, though the American versions weren't terrible), The Haunting (OMG the special effects will knock you out.)

blueturquoise I'm a fan of "Freedom Writers" and "Dead Poets Society". i haven't seen "Dead Poets Society" but i like "Freedom Writers" too! Midnight actually told me about that movie.. it was gooood! and... Kori Al-Djin: I LOVE THE OLDER MOVIES. The old Willy Wonka was definitely waay better than the new one. I am a fan of Johnny Depp, and the darkness of the new film was definitely interesting, but there's something about the original that makes it in a whole other league. The Wizard of Oz was awesome too. Did you hear that rumor about what happened on set with the director's son? Is that true? The Knights tale, also awesome! I also love horror.. well more thriller, but I really appreciate horror that isn't over-the-top gruesome. I really liked the Ring and Ringu... I felt that both versions equaled each other. The Grudge was cool too although I never saw the Japanese version. I think I saw the Haunting.. which one was that again? It sounds so familiar!

Hmm...i can't think of all the movies i like the best. I love a good comedy/romantic-comedy, yet i also love a good fantasy/action/sci-fi. However, nothing is as good as a classic Disney flim such as The Lion King, Aladdin etc. Though two of my favourite films are Finding Neverland and Howls Moving Castle. mrgreen

srestar I think I saw the Haunting.. which one was that again? It sounds so familiar! "The Haunting" is the one with Liam Neeson as the doctor who invites a bunch of people to this huge creepy house telling them it's an expermental study on insommnia, when what he's really doing is studying the nature of fear. He doesn't realize the house is actually for real haunted. Owen Wilson and Catherine Zeta-Jones starred in it. It's a remake of a 1963 movie, and both are based on a story by Shirley Jackson called "The Haunting of Hill House". (Not to be confused with another movie I mentioned, "The Haunting of Hell House", which was based on a Richard Matheson story.)
