This cartoon gave me a new hope for American cartooning.
Just when I thought that the art of cartooning in America was completely dead, Nickelodeon comes out with this major knockout.

I loved it from beginning to end.

My favorite character would have to be Iroh. The old man was awesome. He never took anything seriously that wasn't worth getting serious about. And when it came time to kick some a**, he kicked some major a**.

My least favorite would have to be Azula. She's a well put-together character like the rest of them, but I just didn't like her personality.

I have too many favorite parts to list, and I don't really think there are any parts that I really didn't like.

All in all though, what impressed me the most about this cartoon was that Nickelodeon actually allowed this thing to run on their airwaves.
That makes little to no sense to me, since Nickelodeon only seems to favor shows that specialize in humor revolving around bodily functions.
However, I'm not going to complain, seeing as it's the best cartoon to come out of America since Gargoyles.

........At least it is in my personal opinion anyway.


I've heard a lot of folks that don't like it say that it's another anime ripoff, and to me it only shows their unwillingness to try something new.
Yes, there are a LOT of Asian influences in this show, including the batantly Japanese art style, but in my opinion, I honestly believe that it only helped to boost the quality of the cartoon as a whole.

When watching this, you can really tell that these people put their heart and soul into the entire project from beginning to end, and that's something you don't see too often on television anymore. Let alone in a cartoon series.

And actually, I'm looking forward to the movie trilogy. Since the creators of the series actually have their hands in the project, it might actually be worth watching.

With how much the creators love their project, I highly doubt they will allowed it to be ruined by Hollywood. That's just my take on it anyway.

I know that usually, movies made from cartoons don't work out very well, but I like to keep an open mind. Who knows? Maybe eventually, one will come out that's actually really good.

My favourite episodes were always the big ones. So I liked the big Ba Sing Sei seige and the final episodes...

My favourite characters were pretty much all the ones from the Fire Nation. Iroh, Zuko, Ty Lee and Azula are the stand-outs for me. As for least favourite characters... I'd probably say Katara because I feel she was very typical and had little development. Plus, I thought the blood bending would be used in a much better way so that really disappointed me.

Still, it was an excellent series and I hope there's another series like it to follow it up. It's so hard finding good cartoons these days so I was really thankful to Avatar. It's sad that it's all over now. D:

Got no faith in the movie because I'm cynical and most cartoon movies are just terrible.

Hm, I think I'd have to pick air, too, but, I'm kinda biased in the fact that I love the element of wind or air, period. I think that earth is one of the most useful in the series though, I must admit.xD

I haven't seen the last book, I like this series a lot it has so much going for it, if there is resolution and closure at the end I will be supprised and oh so very pleased.

If it leaves to much unanswered or unresolved particularly relationship wise I will be gutted.

I do want to see balance restored to the nations as well.
