Howdy! I figured this forum could use a thread with some interesting snibbits of fascinating information that no one really cares about. So um, here are a few to get you crazy fools started.
Squirrels can climb trees faster than they can run on the ground.
Cinderella is known as Zezolla in Italy.
The most popular pizza topping in South Korea is tuna.
Two dogs survived the sinking of the Titanic.
Giraffes have no vocal cords.
The "#" symbol's name is really "octothorpe".
The longest game of Monopoly played underwater is 45 days.
In South Africa, termites are roasted and eaten by the handful, like pretzels or popcorn.
On average, 100 people choke to death on ball-point pens every year.
More men stutter than women.
The penalty for masturbation in Indonesia is decapitation.
The opposite of "cross-eyed" is "wall-eyed."
Cats spend more than half of their lives asleep.
Nonsmokers dream more than smokers.
Heehee, I've got billions of those. But I wanna hear yours. Post away! ^^

I have billions, too. Lemmie think.
The Pacific Ocean is twice the size of the Atlantic Ocean and larger than all of the continents combined.
Survey -> 70% of employers don't like hiring married couples to work in the same office.
Johnny Carson once hosted a game show called, 'Earn Your Vacation.'
Hardboiling ostrich eggs can take up to four hours.
No one knows why all the continents are larger at the north than at the south. (Is this true for Australia?)
37% of U.S. coffee drinkers use milk and sugar, 21% drink it black.
Hansel means 'Johnny' in German. (So, I'm thinking, Grettel means 'Jane,' so instead of Hansel and Grettel, it's actually Johnny and Jane.)
The average U.S. farm has 467 acres of land. The average Japanese farm has 3 acres.
End to end, the number of Crayola crayons made in a year would circle the globe four and a half times.
If you melted down all of the Crayola crayons made in a year, it would be something along the three and a half times the size of the Statue of Liberty (I can't remember exactly.)
The most frequently used words in the English language are the, of, and, to, a, in, that, is, for, and as.
In skywriting, the average letter is nearly 2 miles high.
For every gallon of sea water, you get more than a quarter of a pound of salt.
Franklin D. Roosevelt and Theodore Roosevelt were fifth cousins.
Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream gives its ice cream waste to Vermont farms, where it is used as pig feed. The pigs will eat it all, except for Mint Oreo, which they refuse to eat. (I'd refuse to eat it too.)
That's all for now, haha.

Catnip, or Nepeta cataria, is an herb with nepetalactone in it. Many think that when cats inhale nepetalactone, it affects hormones that arouse sexual feelings, or at least alter their brain functioning to make them feel "high."

It is illegal to fish off the back of a camel in Idaho.
It is also illegal to push a moose out of a plane... but only in Alaska.
In my town, it is illegal to walk down Main St. backwards, with an ice cream cone in your back pocket, on Thursdays after 4:00 pm. No joke, I'm serious. xd
The common house fly does not have a complete digestive system, and therefore dies from extreme pain in the abdominal area after around a month.

If you tie an elephant to a parking meter in Orlando, Florida, you have to 'feed' the meter as if the elephant was a vehicle.
=X I've heard of that one law for your town, but I can't remember the name of it!
In Vancouver, Canada, the maximum speed for a tricycle on the freeway is 10 km/ph.
I have one question. When exactly did tricycles and elephants become that BIG of a problem in these cities?
EVEN MORE SO, I don't want to know how this state had to decide on making THIS a law - In Maryland, it is illegal for a child to marry their grandparent.
Oh, and another Canadian favorite - it is illegal to pay for anything in pennies if the amount is more than 25 cents. (The story that goes along with this one is actually quite good. A man owed like, a quarter of a million dollars to this other guy, and the guy had been on the man's butt forever, so finally, he paid the man - all in pennies. It took something like 92 dump trucks full of pennies. Can you imagine going THROUGH this process?)
And I only have one more wacky Canadian law - "You can keep chickens in a shed, and you can keep cows in a shed, but it is illegal to keep chickens and cows in the same shed in Yukon Territory, Canada."
=X I believe it's in Maine that if an object is smaller than a man's pinkie finger, he can legally beat his wife with it.
And in Missouri, it is ILLEGAL for a woman to cut her own hair without her husband's permission.
