The 9th Airborne mostly flies off of aircraft carriers. They have many jobs which include bombing and defending the boat. Both jobs can be coordinated with the Navy and Air Force.

Bombing- Usually only bombs targets that are accessible only by water. (When it's to far away for the air force or when a speedy bombing is needed.)

Defending the boat- If enemy planes or boats get to close to our fleet then these pilots will be called upon to shoot or sink the enemy.
