The wind rustles your hair forcefully, almost gently pushing you forward to the maiden that calls you. Upon seeing the tall fair maiden, you feel compelled to be with her. Men are driven by the beauty of this exotic creature, whilst women are empowered with a sense of awe at her imperial presence. The image fastens hold to your mind, and had you been aware of your current state, you would have found yourself walking in her direction. As you come closer to the bottom of the steep cliff, you find that this woman is but a tall ivory statue of a mermaid. You are almost aware of your senses again, but are quickly entranced by a low, sweet, rhythmic melody of vibrations that appeal to those with the most acute of hearing to those that hear nothing. You look up to see two massive stone columns engraved into the very wall of the cliff. Steps lead up to huge ornate double doors. You begin to walk up the stairs and the doors open for you.
You step inside a marble room, decorated with gold-threaded tapestries, ornate oriental vases, and many refurnished Egyptian couches from centuries before. Golden platters of fruits and nuts tempt your hunger from the tables beside the couches. All over, gorgeous men and women laugh and chatter gaily. Looking around, you see a spiraling staircase that leads to a balcony. You think you hear giggling coming from above. Two doors mirror each other, one to your left and one to your right. Later, you are told one leads to a myriad of bedrooms while the other leads to a library and formal dining room. The melody abruptly seems to stop and you find yourself looking into the face of a gorgeous woman.
The lady standing before you is robed with a long white gown inlayed with silver threads and a variety of small precious jewels. She wears a simple white gold chain with a pendant that bears the crest of the mermaid’s symbol. However, you find that this beauty needs no jewelry or makeup to enhance herself. Even to a woman, her very presence is soothing, despite her overwhelming aura. Her image and figure is flawless as she welcomes you with her eyes and greets you with a graceful smile. The mermaid statue is a mere blackened coal compared to the light of this angel. Then, she speaks.
“You have been beckoned here by the Siren’s call, my dear friend. I sincerely hope you enjoy yourself while you are here. All I ask is that you behave yourself. So please,” she makes a graceful gesture that allows you access to the entirety of the room and its contents,” choose your companion.”
