Yeah, i just RECENTLY.... Recently meaning December, started studying guitar. And i need some help b/c i actually have no tutor, nor a book to go by. So if anyone could extend some tips, or something it would help. At the moment, im trying to 1)Learn how to control my finger effectively, 2)Build up flexibility in fingers, particularly the pinky 3)Just all around trying to gain a little more knowledge.

I just started as well. What I've been doing is looking up tabs to songs and learning how to play some simple stuff. Keep playing some simple stuff and you'll start to pick up on figure control and what not. It just takes practice.

Yeah, I'm a beginner, too, but some great advice I learned from a friend of mine who's been playing for eight years is this:
Don't fall into the trap that a lot of people fall into. If you want to learn to play the guitar, and not just songs on the guitar, practice scales and know what notes you're playing. Then be able to read moving lines and melodies as well as chords. Playing the guitar is about both, not just one or the other, and many of the greats are trained or well learned in classical guitar.
As far as finger flexibility, most of that comes with practice. It's like stretching; the more you do it, the farther you'll be able to reach and the more comfortable it is. I think that people learning to play piano do finger stretches. Maybe try to look some up online?

Lets see I've been playing guitar for about 7 years now and the way I started was playing Piano then violin then bass and finally worked up to guitar. It might be easier to just go to ultimate guitar and they have about 240,000 tabs ranging from as simple as one note to tapping and solo's.

Also, do not try to do stuff beyond your capability, you may get discouraged and quit

I've been playing guitar for two years, and I would also recommend going to Ultimate Guitar. It has a ton of tabs that can help you improve your skills.
To improve finger flexibility, just practice. However, don't make practicing seem like a chore. If you do, you may will get irritated and discouraged, and want to quit. Don't try songs that are really advanced when you're a beginner, because they may be too difficult, and you could get frustrated. Play some simple stuff in the beginning, working up to some harder, more complicated songs. Also, practice scales and actually know what note you are playing.
I hope this helped, and good luck.
