I have both of those movies. Love them. And I guess Depp likes playing misunderstood, skunk-haired, sharp-object-wielding psychopaths in twisted gothic settings. XD Great movies, though, yes...
I still very much enjoy my horror films - Silent Hill, Chukie, Pet Sematary (weird stuff, rite thar), Dark Water, The Shining, Hostel (don't eat anything if you're watching this. trust me), Exorcist, etc.
I recently watched Boys Don't Cry, and actually liked it. Some of it made me laugh because of how awkward it was, then again I don't think I'll ever watch it again without fast forwarding through all the detachable man parts. (if you don't get it, don't ask.) However, the whole concept of the movie in itself was just too interesting to ignore, so I'm glad I gave it a watch. Fun stuff.
Still one of my very favourites is V for Vendetta. I don't even need to explain why; this movie is just awesome hands-down.
And for Hayate, I actually have watched a little anime (and manga) myself. I really only became attached to D.Gray-Man, but I've seen DNAngel, FullMetal Alchemist, Muhyo & Roji BSI, and Soul Eater as well. Anime doesn't grow on me very well though, I admit. I think maybe it's because I prefer the one-night-stands (aka, epic movies) over on-going series.
