I love them so much it's kind of ridiculous. Especially because my favourites among them are "we're not quite sure that's me" Viole and "I scream and then I die" Guimel.
Whenever I watch...well, that particular episode, I always cry. Because not only did they, ya know, cease to be a part of the living in a very brutal manner, they didn't leave until they knew Dilandau would be safe. That's what got me. It was reinforced when Dilandau dropped that flower for them all; they were a family. Sure Dilandau roughed them up, but really, he's a bit of a priss like that, and usually he only did it as a form of discipline.
(Extreme paraphrasing, but...) "You damaged the units with your sloppy technique" could also be taken as "You could have died!"
You get what I'm saying?

I do too! It was really sad when they died. Van had to go all psycho on them.
