Chris Redfield was a S.T.A.R.S operative whose entire life was turned upside down during the Mansion Incident, when he and his fellow S.T.A.R.S. uncovered the scope of the Umbrella Corporation's experiments with the t-virus. Barely escaping from the Zombies and B.O.W.s with his life, Chris and the other remaining S.T.A.R.S. were quickly turned into fugitives by Umbrella. Chris and his comrades joined the Anti-Umbrella Movement to continue the fight against the evil corporation, intending to end their experiments into viral weaponry and bring them to justice. After succeeding (primarily due to the behind-the-scenes assistance of Chris' former commanding officer Albert Wesker), Chris became an operative of the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance, his experience in fighting above-normal biohazards serving him well
he is a member of S.T.A.R.S. Alpha team (and an ex air force member), sent to investigate the disappearance of their compatriots. The squad discovered the remains of Bravo Team's helicopter, but shortly encounter a pack of undead dogs. Redfield, accompanied by the surviving members of Alpha team, Albert Wesker, Jill Valentine, and Barry Burton, seek refuge in the Spencer estate, which is also filled with deadly traps and undead foes.
He eventually learned that Wesker had set up his comrades, but is soon attacked by a Tyrant, a biologically engineered super-soldier. Chris finds Jill, and escaped the mansion before it self-destructed
