Some would consider them cartoons, some animations, unworthy of the title of anime. Yet to me, they are. Code Lyoko and Oban Starracers are my top favorite french anime. Any one else have thoughts about french animes?

I used to watch Code Lyoko, too! I enjoyed that series a lot. I dunno if anime styled cartoons not made in Japan fall under the official category of "ANIME" or not - seeing as how they aren't Japanese made. Influenced, yes. I think the definition of anime tends to be a Japanese made animation.
Though I wonder if it would still apply if a Japanese animation was done in a style heavily influenced by American cartoons and looked nothing like traditional anime....
