Yuki was half out of breath when he reached the Training Grounds. Sprinting all the way from his dorm room to here in just a few minutes wasn't easy. He took a moment to breathe before he found the match he was in. He trotted over and bowed to his partner, stick ready in his wing. "Sorry if I'm late, I just now found out I had a match lined up. May we both do well," he said, ending with the ritual saying. As soon as the words left his beak he straightened and lashed out with the stick, hoping to get the first strike.

Tigs smiled warmly at him, though she was a bit thrown by his formal speech. "Oh s'okay, happens to everybody. Good luck to you too?" she said, not totally sure how he meant the 'may we both do well' bit, but she was a polite sort of girl so she at least tried to reply in kind.
As he swung forward, the girl had been idly looking around and ended up being missed by it because she turned at the correct moment.
"Oh? Are we starting now? I'm sorry, I didn't realize." the Meecio laughed a little, raising her stick and trying her luck this time.

Yuki blinked as he missed first shot. He thought he'd get that hit for sure! He was so busy trying to figure out why he missed... that he got hit instead. He saw it coming, but by then it was too late, and he still got hit even as he was getting out of the way. Well then... he thought. It was on. He moved back in and took a swing at his partner before attempting to dance back out of any counter attacks.

Antigone blinked, just barely missed by the strike. Just a teensy bit closer and she'd have been hit in the chest. With a squeak of surprise, the Meecio danced back a bit and then darted forward to attempt to hit him.
"Sorry!" she called cheerily.

Yuki successfully danced out of the way of his partner's counter-strike. This was good! Now if he could keep this up... He darted back in, reaching out with his stick to smack her somewhere along the back half where she couldn't see as he went zooming straight past his partner.

The brown female let out an eep of surprise, jumping and turning around, swinging her stick to try and hit the boy. Oh my! She wasn't used to being whapped on the rump with sticks (for he'd over shot his goal juuuust a bit and hit her rear instead of her back) except by her big brother.

Yuki blushed furiously when he heard his partner eep with surprise. Oops, he managed to think before she whacked him back. "I'm sorry!" he protested as he backpetaled. "I didn't mean to hit you there!"He darted in and was much more careful this time to avoid aimming at any of her... girl parts...
