If you have fun doing something but aren't really passionate about it, don't become responsible for organizing it. It's not worth it. You won't fit in with the people who are really into it, you won't feel like going to meetings and carrying out your responsibilities, you'll waste a lot of time doing something you could take or leave when you could be doing something you actually care about, and so on.
Yes, I made this mistake. I committed a year to being the Vice President on the executive for a club that I'm not that into. It was stupid.
Don't do it.
At least it'll look good on my resume.

Ballroom and Latin Dance Club (otherwise known as BLDC).
Don't get me wrong. I like the dancing aspect. But my partner has no personality, the other volunteers are not that interesting to me and don't seem to like me that much, and none of my friends who used to be taking classes are in it anymore.
Also, a former club president who now teaches the classes is extremely critical of me for not being there during classes. I have fricking university classes at the same time. What do you want me to do? "Oh, sorry, I can't come to class cuz I have to go hang out with this club I'm in."
It pisses me off. I don't belong there. At all. I like dancing, it's just not my passion. It's fun. But I don't want to be responsible for it.
Oh, and the current President of the club never tells me anything about what's going on. She'll be like "Go here! Do this!" once in awhile, which is cool. I don't mind that. But I do like to have some clue what's going on so I don't have to find out stuff that I should know from the other volunteers.
But anyways. That was my rant.
Once I get off the exec, I'm gonna go out for martial arts or Oxfam or something. Can't wait for the end of April.
