I'm sure there are or will be more than a few Final Fantasy fans lurking around the guild, so I thought i'd create a little haven for us to talk about this wonderful and long-running series of RPGs.
~Suggested topics~ Which Final Fantasy game was your first? Which one(s) do you like the most? Or dislike the most? Tips and suggestions from veteran players? Favourite characters? Memorable moments?

Let me see... I really got into videogames around the period of the SNES and Playstation, so my first Final Fantasy experience was bound to be VII. And I must say it's my favourite one, but, I'm not one of those people who promote it to godhood. It was a really good game but there have been better though I would say it's my favourite Final Fantasy.
I think that V was quite fun to play (the few seconds I got to play of it *sniff*) but I've surprisingly never played VI which is supposed to be like, the gamers' choice so I'm betting that it's probably very good. I've really begun to lose faith in the series though - the recent ones to me are just awful and they don't look like they're getting any better in the new one, either. D: That's just my opinion, but, I'm rather adamant about it, too.
I must say though, I still love Final Fantasy VIII, too. The plot was reasonably terrible and characters' possibly worse, but, the game itself was a joy to play. I especially loved the card mini-game - one of the most addictive things in a game ever. And the magic was fun to draw and collect.
I think favourite characters would be... wow, it's fairly hard.xD From what I've seen of VI, I think Edgar, Sabin and Relm look like fun. I also love Ultross - oh, come on, who doesn't? He's a purple octopuss who's gonna push this piano over... in just ten minutes!
As for other characters... for some reason, I'm a big Tifa fan. And I love the Turks because they're quite fun. x] Don't have many other favourites beyond them, though. Nothing springs to mind. I despise Yuna with a mighty passion though and Rinoa's not much better though she does look rather adorable, to her credit.
I think the Crystal Chronicles games are some of the best, strangely enough. I especially like the world and races they have - unique ones, I feel you don't see often and it's just fun to play. The music in them is good too. I especially liked the King game on Wii Ware where you built the town... I played it over and over again - great stuff.
*takes a breath*
I'll add more to this later, I'm sure of it.xD

Then came FFVII, my first real taste of Final Fantasy games. I didn't like FVIII at the time, but I too enjoy playing it now. Same with X, though I really can't stand X-2. >.>; VI, IX and XII are my absolute favourites though. It's been almost ten years since I first played VI, but the Opera scene still sticks in my head. Kefka and his laugh too. xD

I've beaten the original, the ported to GBA version. I've attempted FFII, but I just can't do it. It's too painful on the leveling. sweatdrop

My favorites are 6 and 7. In my opinion, these two games have the best stories and the best variety of characters. I beat the holy crap out of 7. Also these two games were the first I ever played.
8's story was pretty boring, and the gameplay was just annoying. I never beat it, but the music was awesome.
I've beaten 9, 10, and 10-2. I love 9's story, 10's was alright, and 10-2 was just a really fun game to play.
I've played 5 and 12, but never finished them.
And I've also tried 11 with my husband, but he got bored of it really fast, so we switched back to Everquest. =P

Final Fantasy 7 will always be a classic in my heart.^^ *nods* I just prefer not to call it the best thing since sliced bread like a lot of ... 'fans' of it do. It's not good to overrate good games, you know? Gives me mixed feelings.
Yeah, the music in 8 is fantastic. But I found the gameplay fun (especially that card game!) but the story and characters really were terrible.
Ah, tell me! What's 9 like? I remember watching my brother play and that the synthesizing was fun, but, not much else.
10 I was really put off of because I really despised the characters and the story was A, a bit confusing and B, not interesting enough for me to want to figure out what on Earth realm they were in and such. I didn't complete it so that may explain a few things.
Do you guys like 12? I don't like it, personally. Very annoying.

12's story was very boring. I liked the gameplay alright, but the story was just very bland. And so were the characters.
The main character REALLY did not seem like the guy that would make a good hero.
The only character I really liked was the pirate guy and he seemed rather like a Jack Sparrow ripoff. =/
I managed to play the game up to where you have the option of going to the final place and do the final battle, but I never went there. =/
I even had all my characters up to lvl 99 (thanks to a nifty automatic level up trick I learned online).
But I really didn't have my heart in it like I did with 6 and 7. =/ Granted I never went and fought the final fight in 6 either, but at least it kept my interest up until then. With 12 I was just waiting for it to be over. =(

I AM CREDIT TO TEAM.My first final fantasy game was 6,7,8 and 9 I think. Although I never got to play them they seemed like fun. But The first one I owned was 10 and 10-2. I couldn't get into 10 I'm not sure why. :/ But I LOVED 10-2. It was just so much fun. Even though I didn't complete that either. >> Then I got My life as a King. And I was addicted to it. c: I really did like it. it was fun. Then I got addicted to rig of fates and very almost finished that. And I got quite far in 12. And surprisingly I REALLY liked it. and I played a bit of 1,2,3 and 4. I just couldn't get into them lot. >>
But I'm really looking forward to 13. :'D It looks so cool. And I love the way that it's set in the future where as 12 was kinda set in the past. And I'm also looking forward to 14. If it comes to the 360 I'm going to get it along with Matthew who's going to get it on the PC. c:SO MUCH BLOOD.
