Be ever vigilant, for we know not the moment nor the hour...

Christianity is a crock, so knock off the nonsense.

My boss and I were discussing, when in Washington, D.C., just how much of a messianic figure the America public is making him. They believe almost that he's dressed in all white and always has doves flying around him as he holds an olive branch or something. Anyone that listened to his inauguration speech knows he is not here for peace, that he is not afraid to engage in war. Some, or seemingly most, of our public would be making him out to be a great savior. Now is this honestly the case?

In another instance, on an entirely opposite side of the field, is that Obama is actually the Anti-Christ, and will be instrumental in bringing to fruition the prophecy set forth in Judaeo-Christian thought of the Rapture, or End Times, as writ by St. John (according to the KJV) in the Book of Revelation. Others still relate this whole upcoming chain of events to the newly established and ever rising European Union, which seemingly is reuniting much of what was the Roman Empire. Now what does this hold? Well, that's anothe discussion.

A third option, but of course not the last, is that he is simply another man, just a President, and that this will be a normal four years just like any other term a President may go through. This may be true as well. But as always, I'm not interested in my own opinions, I am interested in yours. Let us all know what you think, and feel. Be as detailed as possible, and please go to great lengths to explain yourself.

Discuss!

Edit: So, we're told that in the End of Times, we'll have marks on our hands or foreheads, and we'll have a false prophet, and an Anti-Christ correct? Well, let's look at how things shape up.

Anti-Christ: Barack Obama.

False Prophet: Rick Warren, select by Obama.

Marks on hands or foreheads which we cannot buy nor sell without? Future of computers, and those chips we always hear about? Hmm... Food for thought, or rater, speculation.

Obama is just a man. I know that this is a boring point of view but i just don't credit him with any type of otherworldly power. He doesn't have enough charisma or self assurance in my opinion. I would like to think that Obama will help to better life in the United States, but I won't be terribly disappointed or surprised if he does not. When he declares martial law, I may change my opinion.

Obama's a politician. That means he's a lying scumbag just like the rest, however, he represents change, and that's why people are so enthusiastic about him. It's what he represents, not the man himself. Although I do believe he's a natural born leader, with a sharp mind and humanitarian policies. Too many generic white older males with no leadership ability, no clue and nothing to offer have made people kinda thirsty for someone with some actual competence. But Messiah? Nah.

I would agree, but the significance those people put on him at the Pagan ritual was... Well, very scary. Change he is bringing yes, but just how positive of a change we won't be certain. I'm simply interested if anyone else holds him in such high regards. I suppose even if they do, they may not admit it, for fear of ridicule. Just thought I'd attempt to make another debate. As a crew member, we're encouraged to make at least two subjects a month. Thought I'd get an early start, but this one seems a dud all ready. Then again, the guild is sort of in a dead state as well.

Personally I was amazed at the amount of support G. W. Bush got from the christian community on television and on the news. It would seem some Christians very much believe in divine right to rule. If he is president then God must have put him there. I would point out however, free will means that if we put anyone in charge then it's our own doing and not God's.

Free will becomes a shadow concept when we think of God having His will done on earth as it is in heaven. God's plans seem to be enacted out by us, thinking we have free will. Is that how it works? Seems confusing, but I don't think He takes complete control. That's a theological debate even I wouldn't wish to enter, as it'd seem only most confusing.

Christian support is a powerful tool, and face it, a White, Christian man from Texas? That spells support. Obama has support as well, and even from rather strong, evangelical pastors as Rick Warren. So we'll see how this turns out. Let's see if it makes Christianity disliked even more than it all ready is.

That article is entirely opinion.

Poorly written, overbearing, cynical opinion, might I add. Give me some tangible "proof" in all that vague allegory and false coincidence, and proof of Obama as a "fraud" it might be. Until then, that is what we call PROPOGANDA.

Politicians, dare I say it, are still human, just like you. Humans lie. The writer of that article lies. (Lies in this case including omission of truth.) How many pictures can you pull up of a single figure holding a hand out like that to a huge crowd? ********, guys, Hitler was NOT the only one caught doing that. No point is made putting the two images side by side any more than putting a picture of a conductor doing his work with an orchestra. Same s**t, different image, different irrational derivative thought pattern.

Isn't this guild called "open your mind"? What's with all the generalization everyone does?

In my arrogant opinion, nobody has a right to say whether or not anyone or anything is ordained by god unless we got some damn skippy proof, and by proof, I mean we all heard a thundering voice from s**t knows where proclaiming this to us as we were making breakfast. Until then, he's president, get over it, if we don't like it, we can leave, instead of being completely counterproductive and bitching about the state of the world rather than, you know, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

My two cents, BACK to PMS land with me. Good day.

Btw jacki, ilu.

I agree that he's just a person. Whether i like him or not doesn't factor in to that. I don't think he'll factor into any of the end time stuff. Besides things aren't bad enough yet for the anti-christ to show up.

He's a man. He has some nice little ideas. My only question: How they are going to work? I don't like or dislike him. I'd like to see him succeed, manly because he's running the country I live in.

I didn't see the live inauguration, but I got to hear about it for an entire week.

When did Obama bring us out of depression? Last time I check his presidency has been met with lack of faith from the stock markets.

As for the OP:
He's a man I do not like but want to succeed. If he fails, then America is failing for the most part. We are in a bad economy and cannot afford to fail, so it's time some one (even if I don't like him) does something about it. We can always clean it up at a later date.
/reponse

Begin rant:
If you live in America and...
A.) You want him to succeed - You're a real American
B.) You want him to fail - just leave, you don't belong here
C.) Something else.....then I don't know what to say.

Well You don't get out of a depression within 2 months of becomeing president you have to give him time which irrates me that people are already complaining about him there's no such thing as a quick war, or a quick solution. Hitler took a couple of years to accomplish complete control and a economic resurgence. And you can't use the first gulf war as an example against the quick war comment because We declared war on Iraq in augest of 1990 and it didn't end till Febuary of 1991.

LOL
To get out of this Recession...er Depression we need a big War, sad to say it is what got us out in most economic hardships in the United States.

Also Obama only got elected in my view because of his Rockstar Status.
