Sashiri stared glumly at the message board. Most of the quests were, kill this, bring that. She was tired of being the only one not scouted out for a class yet but anytime she asked Gurnam, he only mentioned more experience.
The Sooteu was about to turn away when a small tacked up scrap of paper caught her eye.
"That's new.." the girl muttered, carefully freeing it from the message board. Carefully she studied the scrap, unmindful of the world around her.

Heiyuu had been just heading over to investigate the scrap when the female Sooeteu pulled it down. "What's that?" he asked, peering at it. "Looks like a bad doodle of one of my mother's home remedies."

Sashiri jumped, nearly dropping the paper. "R-Really?" she commented, slowly turning around to face the other Sooteu. "There wasn't any note or anything. Just this."

"Yeah," the boy said, wrinkling his nose, "she had a thing for sticking rats in eeeeeeeeverything, particularly our 'medicine'. Disssssssssgusting."
Heiyuu cocked his head to the side, looking at the paper she held. "Looks torn off. You think it's part of somethin else?"

Sashiri made a face. "Mine was more likely to use fish guts," the girl volunteered.
Ri studied the paper some more. "You're right. .....Maybe the housekeeper or Denali would know? They both have jars of medicine..."

"I'd check with Denali first since she sells them an all that. I didn't know the housekeeper kept medicine at all." the boy commented with a shrug.

Sashiri flushed. "Some kids got sick in the middle of the night..." she muttered, not going into how exactly she knew that.
Carefully not looking at Heiyuu, Sashiri continued "Still.. let's go see what she knows... if we can figure it out," she added dryly.

The boy nodded, not really needing much of an explanation. He could tell she was uncomfortable and he had enough siblings to know the reason she was probably being shy about it.
"All right." the yellow one responded, walking towards the potion shop, "Don't worry about translation by the way, I have lotsa crazy relatives."

"Good," replied Sashiri as she trailed along after Heiyuu. "All of mine are sane... I guess. Or understandable at least...." She was quiet for a moment. "Do you have a big family?"

Heiyuu nodded, his head deedly bobbing, "Seven brothers, three sisters, twenty-four cousins, two aunts, two uncles, and my parents - and we all lived in the same house." the boy recited, rolling his eyes as they walked.

Denali was cackling away in her shop. The pink smoke from earlier had managed to clear out. Now the whole place just smelt like rotting eggs.

"TEN siblings!? And I thought my two drove me crazy," Ri stared at Heiyuu in shock, nearly stumbling over the ground. "That...that's a very full house."
Just then a wave of stench poured over her. With a half-gagging noise, Sashiri bent over suddenly, nearly retching her lunch into the grass. "Oh god..." she whispered, desperately trying to cover her mouth and nose with part of her shirt.
"What is that!?"

"Yes. Really crowded, and I was the odd man out so you can sort of see why I wanted to come-oh EUGH!" the boy said, whapped in the face with the stench before taking a deep breath and calming himself.
"Smells like Uncle Padvoti's cooking." the striped boy said in response to the girl's question before shaking his head and looking at her carefully, "need me to go in and ask about the parchment while you chill out here?"

Sashiri flapped her hand at the boy, careful to breath through her mouth. "Be fine.. Fish guts smell worse.." Her stomach roiled and she stubbornly squashed it. She would *not* look bad in front of Heiyuu. She would not. "Just caught me off guard," she added for good measure.
Her face twisted as she accidentally breathed in through her nose. Carefully she readjusted the shirt and determinedly headed into the store.
