Chapter 1- Isolation
*Beep* Beep* *Beep*
The alarm beeped in contrast to the utter silence, echoing through the facility. The bed near it began to move unsteadily as something awoke. That same something being the only living thing in the vault.
That something was Frank. Frank was a man, well... more like a shell now, the lonliness that crept upon him in the six something years of isolation would break any spirit. The only company he had was the enigmatic Mr. Handy who called himself Mark, and didn't talk much other than pre recorded nonsense that were still intact in his memory.
Frank hit the alarm, and started his day, the typical day he lived which was the same day as yeterday, and the day before that. The clocks were not at the right time, so he didn't even know whether it was night or day, he just proceded with the same schedule as usual. The dissonant ringings of radio's that still blared in the locked rooms that he couldn't open. Frank wasn't a handyman, so everyday he had to hope nothing would go wrong. Before the incident, he was a teacher, but only because that is what the G.O.A.T. said he should be. Frank wandered for a moment before heading into the kitchen. He noticed Mark floating there in place. "Good morning Mark..." were Franks first words, of today, of yesterday, and perhaps of tommorrow. They were usually the only words he would say. Mark replied with, "Don't let me keep you honey. I have to head out anyway." in an almost business man voice. Frank shook his head and headed for the cooler, and grabbed some Insta-Mash (all that was left was about 3 months supply of Insta-Mash and purified water). He groaned as he ate the same thing he would have for lunch and dinner. Frank got up after eating half, downed some water, and proceeded towards the stairwell to check on the plants in the atrium.
He walked down the winding path into the atrium, and saw something that he had not noticed before. A terminal was flickering with what little power was left. Frank walked towards it and began to examine it. It was the overseer's computer. It somehow had bypassed the password screen that normally was there, by some glitch or miracle. Frank began to access information, he considered something new to read one of the greatest earthly pleasures, then again, six years with no books or people probably would make anyone appreciate books quite a bit more. Frank saw a particular file that had said **OVERSEER ONLY**. He accessed it and it began innocently enough with the badmouthing overseer's daily audiologs. He heard Overseer Cliffs voice and it was almost comforting...

"Over and over again that damned Mr. Handy keeps finding ways to screw up what he fixes, the reactor left us with no power for and hour, and the ******** pig we call a mechanic can't do diddly s**t. I think we should throw him out into the wasteland..."

"Found two bodies that were killed by radroaches. RADROACHES For ******** sake, do these wimps have no shame, anyway the damn Mr. Handy took care of them. There may be a slim chance I won't melt him down, albeit... it is a slim chance."

"That damn Mark just proved his uselessness, he turned off the air conditioning unit, put it in reverse, and we about fried. He had the robotic balls to tell me some kids were saying it was too cold, yeah well we have about 3 dead young ones and 7 adults from heatstroke, metal walls will fry the s**t out of you. I plan on deactivating him tomorrow."

"Mark keeps eluding me, the b*****d knows what I am doing, he seems to take a likeing to that teacher Franz or whatever the hell his name. That Franz better not be helping that bot."
March 26th, 2259
"Another day and no Mark. I gave that teacher hell and hit him a bit too hard, and now the bastards in a coma... what the hell was that?"
*shuffling in the background, followed by pounding and a scream, a robotic voice answered with a "Sorry sir, but I am here now. Would you proceed with deactivating me?" A buzzsaw went off and then silence*

Well hope that the first chapter wasn't too horrible. I know the coma thing is rather cliche
