Well you see,in my Valley we have two AFJROTC corps.
The Ca-20063rd(mine) and the Ca-782nd(other).
Our current upperclassmen are the last generation to have attended the 782nd. This is a corps that is notorious for mistreatment of cadets,favoritism,and just general bad and distasteful things. They run it more like Army basic training then a leadership program.

We attended a competition yesterday where the 782nd was there as well. Our base camp was very near to theirs. Our teams had to walk past them to get to the drill pads and such,whenever we walked by they would go completely silent and start snickering at us to their friends. Now we've never been anything but nice and sportsmen like to them, we pride our selves at being the "bigger people".

We've never provoked them at all,it just seems like they hate us for no reason at all. Its not our fault that the Air Force decided to start another corps in this valley with a Sgt that was working at the 782nd,and that we dont run it like a Nazi camp. I dont understand why people can hold such prejudice without even knowing people.

Do any of you have input on this?
Are you "rivals" with another corps?
Is your corps the antagonist in a rivalry?
Id like to hear all about it!

Well that really sucks and I have the same thing(in a way) in my town. We have two Marine Corps JROTC(s), one at my school(Oceanside) and another at El Camino(other). We dont have it that bad cause we are so close and we do alot of things together(camping trips, balls, bus sharing for comatitions) but we still have that rivalry but me and some friends like to say at comatitions that it doesnt matter as long as some one from the town of Oceanside wins first place. But you always have that rivalry in towns. As for the antagonist question, we are the antagonists from their view but we are the protagonist from ours so.... its the point of view for that question.

I sees.
yeah,it really sucks.
Ive never really talked to them and so im not really sure why any of them hate us.
They just are rude,my corps and i have a feeling that their instructors sort of push the hate. Spread slanderous stuff around,its really horrible.
But you never know...

So anyone else have a story to tell? I really would like to hear 'em.
Any suggestions in breaking the cycle of hate?

For me it was kind of different. We don't have corps vs corps we have brigade vs brigade. I think there is about 11 brigades and we are all known for different things. I was in 3rd brigade and are only real rivals were 4th brigade. First off you got to realize our brigade is one of the smallest and number wise shouldn't have ever been considered a brigade. 4th brigade however could make a few brigades. Anyways, the first time we ever did an event together it was a combined leadership (basic intermediate and advanced plus anoc bnoc and ocs) we had a combined staff and me and another girl were the two top cadets. She was the commander and i the XO. The rest of staff was from their brigade. We all struggled that whole leadership and me and the other girl wondered why things kept going wrong. After the event was over we learned that their commandants had set us up. How bogus is that? and their commandants were on state staff! their cadets didn't no proper drill and kept messing up. anyways all the cadets are pretty cool with each other its the commandants that fuel it. I don't think the rivalry is to bad cuz it would give us motive for competitions but when we are at an event i think stuff like that should be put aside.
