Plot
The year is 2079. 30 years ago the most feared event happened: a nuclear holocaust. Major cities were destroyed all over the world, governments quickly collapsed and the world was plunged into chaos and darkness. But somehow people did survive. Some hid themselves deep underground, but many were forced to live on the surface. Most of who stayed on the surface mutated into creatures that people once thought only existed in nightmares. Eventually those who hid themselves underground began running low on supplies, and since the radiation levels had gone down, and the world was becoming habitable again they emerged from their holes. Much of the world had been turned into deserts and wastelands. The remaining cites were torn apart, and rubble was everywhere. But, they could survive. As they explored this strange and Alien world they had to recreate societies. Most fuel was already used up, so they converted vehicles to run on solar power. They used massive entertainment stadiums as walled fortresses, and the fields their were perfect for growing crops. Their recreation of societies though brought the attention of the monsters they had left behind those 30 years ago.
Survivors
Humans: Most of the remaining Humans on Earth hid themselves underground. The rich, the politicians, the famous, and other VIPs were the first to get spots in the bunkers. All other people were lucky enough to get picked in a lottery. But there were some who managed to live on the surface during those 30 dark years. Some had minor mutations, while others found places completely safe from the touch of radiation. Some of the people lived by themselves, while others grouped together to form bands of survivors. Some traveled, while some stayed in one area to try and make a new life. Some grew their food, while others stole it. But almost all of them have one thing in common: they feel that those who lived in the bunkers don't deserve to live, for many of them were the same ones who created this apocalypse.
Mutants: Mutants come in all shapes and sizes, with all sorts of different mutations. Some their skin became tougher to protect against radiation and others grew extra limbs, or both, or something else entirely. Some still have their human minds intact, while others have gone mad for one reason or another. Most Humans thought fear mutants, and as a result Mutants are outcasts of society.
Machines: During the build up to the Nuclear War there was another war, fought with more conventional weapons. As the war dragged on there became a greater and greater need for robots to fight the war. By the end of the war these Machines became quite advanced. And, after their Human masters left these Machines returned to their bases. Their creators programmed them to be self sufficient and so the Machines began creating more Machines, and began evolving. As time went on they began discovering Human and Mutant survivors, and since their programming was to eliminate anything that was not an ally they were destroyed, because since their was no government, their could be no allies for them to protect, and so they destroyed everything they came across. When the survivors emerged from their bunkers the Machines were aware of this new large presence of enemies. They new that Humans could be clever, and so instead of an immediate attack they hid themselves, and kidnapped people. They used the kidnapped humans to experiment on, so that they could create Human Replica Droids (HRDs) which would infiltrate into Human society and study them, to find a more efficient way to destroy all of them. The greatest weakness all Machines share is the fact that they are very vulnerable to Electro Magnets, which fry their electronics on exposure.
Zombies: As the last great war progressed people invented progressively more terrible ways of killing each other. Perhaps some of the worst of which were Bioweapons. Some killed the person very slowly while others killed in minutes, but they were all very painful. And then one scientist, whose name is lost to time, realized that this was all so much of a waste. The scientist created the T-Virus, which could deployed in an aerosol form. It's effect was almost immediate. First the infected would be overwhelmed by a terrible fever which would make them delirious and within an hour would knock them unconscious. Cellular degeneration would occur in the brain, stripping the person of all rational thought. Adrenaline production would be doubled and heart rate would increase. After 24 hours the infected would awake and take on an animal like state of viciousness. They would attack anything that they deemed to be a threat, which would be anything that was not one of them. People named these creatures Zombies, after infamous creatures from horror films. Zombies are faster and stronger than Humans, but lack rational thought, and so are much more stupid. Otherwise they are exactly the same as the Humans they once were. Fortunately the T-Virus does not last long outside of a host or suitable containment area, but it can still be spread by the exchange of body fluids between a Zombie and a Human. Mutants are immune to the Virus, probably cause of their exposure to Radiation. Finally Zombies are very sensitive to light and so do not go outside during the day. (Zombies are not a playable Race)
Eldar: The Eldar are an ancient alien race in the Milky Way Galaxy. When one of their ships was exploring a system they began to detect high levels of radiation on the third planet of that system. Intrigued they investigated the source of that radiation and found that the planet was inhabited by sentient lifeforms who had apparently waged a Nuclear war against each other, nearly destroying the planet. They sent scouts down to the planet to see if there were any survivors, and to their surprise there were. They contacted their homeworld, and another ship was deployed to take their place: Dark Star. Dark Star's mission was to monitor and research the dominant species on the planet called "Humans." The Eldar wish to see how this species will develop after they nearly destroyed themselves. Most Eldar hope the Humans are able to become an enlightened people, like the Eldar, and they hope that they can rebuild themselves to live a better life. But other Eldar think this is a waste of time, that the Humans are pathetic and should be left to die on their useless planet.
Technology
Technology is the same as today, except whatever is electronic is usually solar or wind powered. Aircraft are rare, but a few still do exist. Many vehicles that were left on abandoned battlefields and empty streets have been repaired and now most run on solar power. The most common working devices left behind from the old world are ironically guns and bullets. During the later years of the war production of these weapons were at an all time high, and so when everything ended there were many of these weapons left behind. Also, many of those who hid in the bunkers brought with them medical supplies, and machinery that could create more weapons or other devices. The Eldar have unique technology that can be found in the Characters Forum.
How To Play
You start by making a character, and then post your character's profile in the "Characters Forum". Then you go and post in one of the places threads as your character and begin Role Playing. When traveling between areas you must post at least once in every place between you and your destination, that way it will allow the Admins to give you something to do on your journey (if you want to make sure you have something to do, then do not rush your journeys, let your posts sit for a couple hours and then move on, I will try and check as often as I can). It is pretty simple. If you are still confused you can look at some other posts.
NPCs
In this RP you are allowed to make NPCs that you control to interact with your character. These NPCs can be bad guys, your best friend, some hooker you picked up on the street, or someone (or something) else entirely. NPCs don't have to be warriors, or have any skills or spells or anything (stats are still necessary though).I would prefer it if you didn't make too many NPCs, cause, well, that would be really annoying, but if you wanted, technically you can, unless you are borderline godmodding with making your own uber-army of NPCs. Also, NPCs can be pets, if you are into that whole thing.
Seasons
Seasons work like the same seasons we are experiencing in the real world. I figured we needed seasons, and this was the easiest way I could think of handling those seasons. Some places are unaffected by climate change like deserts, rain forests, and places at high altitude.
If you have any questions start a new thread in the main forum about your question.

Our Guild has great Role Players and high quality RPs for them to participate in.
