The Basics
The Davy Back will occur when I feel that enough people want one, with that said people should let me know when they want a Davy Back by signing up for one. Each Davy Back will have eight members. If at any time we don't have enough members to start a Davy Back fight, then it will be pushed back to the next date until we have enough members. One exception will be if there are four members, the Davy Back may then begin on schedule. The Davy Back is treated as a tournament, for Pirates and Navy. This means the loser of any round before the semifinals will be knocked out of the tournament and cannot win the grand prize. The winner of any round moves on to the next and gets closer to achieving a prize. There will be prizes for first, second, and third place. This means that the two losers of the semifinals will have a chance to battle for the third place prize. Prizes will change as different Davy backs are held.
A fighter will never know who he/she is fighting until they arrive in the Davy Back area. This way they have no way of editing their skills or weapons once they find out who they will be battling against. Needless to say, you'll have to be fully prepared for anything if you want to win the grand prize. Fighters are picked randomly by pulling names from a hat. Same goes for stages.
No killing is allowed in the Davy Back, you can only knock your opponent out or be knocked out yourself.
Arenas
Instead of creating arenas, there will be fights in recreated memorable places in One Piece (Baratie, Skypiea Beach, Maxim for example). As stated before, stages will be randomly chosen. I will attempt to change the stages up but I cannot guarantee a steady flow of new arenas in each Davy Back. However, no one should fight in the same stage in one Davy Back.
If it comes down to it then we will begin creating unique stages to go with the memorable ones.
Posting Style
Davy Backs cannot last forever, so we have to shorten the fights a bit. When making the entering post into the arena roll a 10-sided die. Whichever fighter rolls the highest gets to choose who attacks first. If the dice roll is out then whichever player enters the arena first will choose. Whoever attacks first will not be given a significant advantage.
Each fighter makes 20 posts, taking turns of course. Posts may be as long as a fighter feels necessary. At the end of these posts, mods will decide who wins if there isn't an obvious winner. If a mod is involved in these fights then another method for choosing the winner will be discussed. Posts will need to be made very specifically, any flaw will likely count against you in the mod's vote. After the winner is chosen, they will land a finishing blow to end the fight. The opponent doesn't necessarily have to be knocked out, just unable to fight. When it is your turn to make a move, you must do so within 48 hours of the other fighter. This is to keep the Davy Backs from running too long. If you do not post within the 48 hour range, then you forfeit the fight.
I realize that internet may act up at times, people may be put on punishment, and other things may happen. Unfortunately slowing down the Davy Back can lead to slowing down the guild. There will be plenty of chances to win a Davy Back.
Prizes
Along with monetary prizes, there will be items given as well. There may also be an increase in the bounty of the winner. All of this depends on the choice the winners make. the special items will have a monetary value on them, so they can be sold to other characters if the winner wants to. These special items will have a patent on them, making them the only available of it's kind.
Extra
-Another rule I feel should be added. The most Davy Backs someone can win in a row is two. If a fighter wins two Davy Backs in a row they are not allwed to enter the next one. I also encourage new fighters to enter the Davy Back whether they have a fruit or not.
-Once everything seems to be going smoothly, we'll start unique Davy Backs. Something like all pirates (or navy), certain professions only, and team Davy Backs. However this will require that we have enough people to do something special like this. I encourage everyone to send such recommendations through a pm, I wanna have fun with this.
