So im a Nihilisht.
That basically means i do not believe in anything
I dont.
Now, im sick and tierd of people saying, "Nuh uh! Thats athieism!"
Because it really isnt. Nihilism is nothing, at all, period. Im not really typing this and your not reading it.
So this is an exact account of a conversation on my bus, part of it

Chris (Me):Ok, no. Im pretty sure i know my own "religion" Nihilism is nothing, Atheism is no god.
Markus (Yeah, thats how his name is spelled): No, shut up. I cant even respect atheists, your fake religion and scientologists, it dosnt make any sense.
Me: Why? Tell me Why? How do you know?
Markus: Uh. Um. Because its not christian! God has to exist you heritict, biggot! I know about them from south park!
Me: Are you kidding me?

And then i just ignored him, does anyone see the problem? These idiots dont know what they're talking about and are biggoted! ITs rediculous.
How bout i say, "God dosnt exist, no old man (Noah's Ark) could get those animals onto that damn boat! People didnt live past 40 back then!" They would be pissed!
Even though some is true

From my understanding, nihilists are rather a darker version of humanists, or existentialists. So then, do you reject the concepts of morality as well? Do you believe good, evil, right and wrong are subjective or simply do not exist at all? That's quite a bold step if I may say so myself. To each their own I suppose. I'm guessing you also don't believe there is a meaning to life, or a purpose or reason for which to exist? I suppose there is a fine line between atheists and nihilists, but the discrepancies are so few that they could be practically synonymous, except in philosophical instances ie the atheist following spiritual philosophies of perhaps Bushido or some other creed, maybe a Taoist doctrine.

Hm, I see. I mean this as respectfully as possible, but I do not think I could be friends with someone whom saw all moralism as being subjective, and in turn believing nothing wrong with rape, cold murder, child molestation or other obscene practices. To me, that's heinous. We must also suffer the evil that is the indifference of good men, or so we're told. Seems true enough.

Anyone else wish to comment on this philosophical view, or antithesis as I suppose should be said? Anyone have comments on the existence or non-existence of morality and moral compasses then?

I live by something that is in some ways similar to nihilism. I don't believe in any greater purpose, and I think we're simply matter that by some huge cosmic roll of the dice was given an illusion of sentience. Or is it 'sentinence'? Anyway. But I don't think this has to be a 'dark' thing. Instead, why not take it this way; We are free to do whatever we want to do. In the end, we all die and rot. So why not do our best to enjoy life? And in case you're thinking, 'that encourages people to be greedy, selfish and cruel!', well, I say, No! I don't advocate this view, it's simply MY way of living. I don't have any, nor do I believe in any, universally set code of conduct, no all-compassing moral code, but that doesn't mean I go around doing evil. I just don't care about people's expectations. I don't care if people judge me, in fact, I LIKE it when people judge me. I find it all very humorous when people can look at me, then look away, whisper something in somebody's ear and then shake their heads. For some reason I just find it so awfully humorous I can't help but laugh. So go ahead, be yourself and enjoy yourself to your heart's content! Enjoying yourself doesn't automatically mean you give in completely to all your 'baser' desires. In short, I believe anyone has the right to do whatever as long as their lives don't cause unnecessary suffering to others.

You do realize you're living in a country that kills thousands of people on a yearly basis for the sake of capitalism? And that your chosen religion used their power to cause the greatest carnage through human history? If that doesn't show that morals and ethics are subjective, I rest my case. The world -and humanity- is what we make of it as individuals.

My religion has done nothing. Its abusive followers have done everything. For what it did destroy, it has also preserved historical texts. Even early Israelis, or Hebrews, destroyed other cultures and even took on their stories. Not that this has to do with anything here.

Someone who believes moralism does not exist, and is perfectly okay with rape being "something that happens" is no better than one that is against it but would not stand against it if given the chance. At least I am willing to say that it is wrong, and if I had a chance to stop it from happening, then I would. What makes my faith unique is that we do take a stand on moralism, to say what is right, and what is wrong. Of course, we don't always have the best, or most popular ideas, but we try. This is not to say we are always right either, but we still try. So while Pagans, non-believers, or any other sort may tend to refrain from engaging in such moral debates, and try not to get involved with saying what is "right" or "wrong" on anything, we will. It is for this reason, amongst others, that Judaeo-Christian thought is under more attack than any other faith in the world.

My country has nothing to do with me. It will have its end and answer for its crimes and sins as all things will. No empire is everlasting that is of this earth. Once man realizes that, we'll be better off. The U.S. will have its day to die. In fact, here, let me share a link with you that will emphasize just what I speak.

http://www.rzim.org/GlobalElements/GFV/tabid/449/ArticleID/10206/CBModuleId/881/Default.aspx

So if you're against moralism, and also refuse to take a stand on things that seem heinous and dangerous to the lives of others, then I would not wish to be friends with you either. I can take a stand for myself and say I do not wish to be associated with that sort of character. It's bad enough I am a sinner and know this, but to knowingly be friends with someone that wouldn't oppose something like that? Now that... That I could not do.

Yikes! I say don't exclude. You see one another going down set paths. This would be true if each of you were alone. We each know other people and affect(effect?) one another. You may balance each other out, or you may polarize each other.
As for morals, I have decided that it is a moot point. There are consequences, wither you do "good" or "evil" or allow either to take place near you you shall be affected.

For example I don't run red lights late at night. There doesn't appear to be anyone around, but there are so many unpleasant things that could happen if I do. Other people driving with their lights off (crash), sheriffs waiting nearby with their lights off, and if I make it a habit, then I may run that red light during the day and get hit(crash with several witnesses).

If you don't have a [moral] compass then you need to be able to navigate by observing your surroundings. Such people need to be very aware of the consequences for actions taken and not taken.

If you break the law you will be inconvenienced by the government (they are bigger than you) so you probably don't.
If you allow lawlessness near you it may become worse and again inconvenience you.

Responsibility to the responsible as they say. It's also said "No good deed goes unpunished." Go figure, eh?

Personally, i cant believe in morals. Because it really is subjective, take this for example: A mans family if raped and killed by a man, the husband knows who he is, but the court system can't get any good evidence and releases him. Is it against "Moral" for the husband to kill the man? No! Most rapist/child molesters/killers strike again if set free, this was proven!
How do people think that the man should have just let him go? He had every right to kill him, didn't he? Yet he now rots in a jail cell, for vengance, justified vengance, this is a true story i may add.

The man who kills, may kill again. That is why he is in prison. It doesn't matter that he was morally right or wrong. The law says prison is the consequence for committing murder.

It doesn't matter if you believe in nothing. The law believes in you.

The problem is, law fails often

If no one noticed it was a TRUE STORY
A man was jailed for putting criminal down!

It's just like the end of Seven. If people believed in morals and could act accordingly, the initial acts of rape and murder would not have conspired. Morals exist for the guidelines of one's thoughts and actions. I don't believe mankind has the natural urge, on an individual level at least, to rape, pillage and destroy. I think we all have the potential to be higher than that. Today, society would have us reduced to mindless, carnal beings that partake in nothing but indulgences of fornication, fast food and technology. Society speaks itself of nothing spiritual, no higher aims for which we could belong to positively aim ourselves. Our options are to work for two things that are degrading to one sex, and advocating the sexual lifestyle of another. Liberal agenda, feminism and promotion of the gay community. What they do is their business, and never should have entered political arenas, but now that it has, it seems in want of special treatment. And anyone that should say feminism or the gay community doesn't have an agenda should look no further than any store that sells feminist or gay pride materials from reading sources to clothing and accessories. Try denying that "rainbow pride" and the such items aren't commonly available.

Anyways, I've strayed off topic, and led in to what could possibly be another sometime this month. I cannot speak for everyone, but I still have my morals. I won't undercut someone in a deal. I wouldn't betray a true friend. I would not intentionally mislead someone with spiritual or common advice. I wouldn't steal from a store or a friend. For those of you who say you don't believe in morals, you are agreeing and openly saying you are perfectly capable and have no guilty conscience of doing these things. You would not have any qualms about raping someone, or murdering someone. You could set fire to an orphanage or church and not mind being sent to prison for it. Is this what you are agreeing to? Are you telling me you are soulless beings? You'd best think over what you say, for if you are saying you have no concepts of right and wrong, you may just want to look out for yourselves a little more.

Ok, to the beggining of your first paragraph.

If they didnt have a natural urge, why the ******** would they do it? they wouldnt!
And if you havent looked at america so many people are fat/obese from fastfoods and use of only technology so that point is totally just... a failure.
And how is gay pride degraing one sex? Do you not belivein gay marrige? that two people who love eachother should not be married?

Everyone has urges to do something, but we can take a higher path and avoid it. Living in America, I'm aware of the obesity that is running rampant in our society, and it is sad. Gay pride isn't degrading one sex, I believe feminism is. Correction, in its more extreme forms, these Lilith-influenced beings seem to think men are obsolete, unneeded or wanted, that we've essentially outlived our purposes in today's societies. That is what I mean by degrading. What is worse is that some men buy into this thought pattern and actually bow to them, making what they say true. That is what I find degrading.

I don't support the gay lifestyle, no. I do not like it personally. However, I support their right to marry one another and live happily productive lives. I do not support aggressive gay pride methods, or those that proclaim themselves victims, or display gay pride so flamboyantly that they expect us to give special recognition, and sometimes wait for us to slip up and say something so that they can pinpoint us with having "judgmental" opinions. That is what I do not like. I will try to be more clear in making my points in future posts. I apologize.

I'm just trying to speak out on sides that aren't really spoken from much in our debate guild, and with most of the Christian members being silent, we're not even getting a real idea of how different Christians can be. So this seems like I'm speaking for all of Christianity, and I am not, nor would I claim to be. Bear that in mind. Of course I am a sinner like all others, and will remember that. So don't think I'm trying to "judge" anyone. But I can say what I dislike about something, or someone, without condemning the person themselves. Hope this clears things up a bit.
