Both human heroes and di'n guardians are social creatures. As they come to the shop, they are bound to meet other people, interact, make bonds, learn new things and even fall in love. Heroes can do that during battle, but the time in those cases is very limited, as it is during events. Roleplaying in the Main Shop thread is always an option, but most of what happens there is light-hearted and classified "for fun", as everybody is free to interfere with what's happening.

To further relationships and plot developments, RP Threads are the answer. Simply put, creating an RP Thread is similar to creating a Battle Thread: get a guardian friend (or two or three, as many as you want) and talk about possible RP scenarios or/and plotbunnies. If everybody reaches an agreement, one must create the RP Thread and state who is allowed to post in it. Then, the pair/group of guardians may roleplay to their heart's content until they decide it's ok to finish the thread and it's part of story.

This thread will the rules and guidelines for RP Thread creation in the Guild main forum.

Roleplaying F.A.Q.

Do I have to Roleplay in order to stay in the shop?
No, roleplaying is something optional and just for fun. The only requirement this shop has is the "Stay Active" clause. Of course, roleplaying is considered as proof of activity.

Can I roleplay during battles?
Yes, you can. But keep in mind that you are, in fact, in the middle of a fight when doing it. Also, battles are somewhat limited in time and posts so don't expect to be able to develop much of a relationship during one.

Can I roleplay in the main shop thread in the breedables forum?
Yes, you can post as your hero and talk to others, but most of the RP that happens there is "for fun", since everybody can see it and answer to your actions, and there are other conversations happening at the same time.

Can I roleplay in the guild's Journals?
Only between you an your hero, mainly. Journals are something private to keep record of your hero's development, to post art, photos, videos, stories, whatever you deem fit, but in a journal-like manner.
Of course, you may decide to give another hero permission to write pages in your journal in a "shared heart journal" way, but try not to get that out of board. After all, the journal is an open book to your hero's heart.

I want my hero to roleplay with this other, how do I do it?
First, talk to them in the main shop or via PM to see if they are interested. If they are, follow the rules you'll find in the second post of this thread to create your own private RP Thread in the Guild.

Does roleplaying have any rewards?
Besides from the satisfaction of seeing your hero bonding with others? Well, as a matter of fact, yes.

Once an RP thread is finished, Ari will read it (if she hasn't already while still active) and if she likes what she reads she may give a few Special Points to the roleplayers. The better the roleplay, the better the reward. Of course, creating insulse roleplaying just for the sake of getting SP will be shunned upon, and awarded with nothing but a boot to the head.

Also, some heroes are allowed to have a fourth stage, but will only be able to achieve it roleplaying the character propperly *hint, hint*

Is there a limit in the RP Threads I can create or be in?
You may only have one RP thread open with each one of the other existant heroes, which is a fairly big number of threads.

Anyways, we advise against being in more than 3 active RP threads at the same time, because it may become a bit too much to handle for anyone.

Do I have to write very long posts while roleplaying?
You don't need to write a book chapter everytime you post, but please, try to at least write more than one line.

Also, keep your grammar in check. Think not all the other guardians may have english as their mother language, and it may be hard for them to read what you wrote.

Can I write offtopic comments?
As long as they aren't very long, you can. You still have the main shop thread and PMs to do it, also.

To post an offtopic comment, write it like this:
((This is an offtopic comment))

Can I roleplay about something that happened "in the past", before current plot events or RP threads?
You may, but you should clearly state the moment in time where it happens and be careful not to break any "Cannon Happenings" with your actions.

Where does the roleplay take action?
Check post three of this thread for a list of locations avaible for roleplaying. Besides those, you may choose to take the action to a customized place, like your hero's rented flat (for example). But keep in mind not many heroes will agree to go to your hero's place if they barely know him/her.

While my RP was still active, a plot event happened! How do I deal with it?
For all purposes, threads created even a second before a plot event happened are pre-event, so no matter how long it takes you and your friends finishing your RP thread, it will still have happened befote the event, and none of it's consequences should affect it.

We advise against making RP Threads during a plot event (unless we clearly state that, for this time, it's all right to do so, which is unlikely). So please, don't nnU If you absolutely have to do so, consider it a "before event" thread as stated before.

This also applyes if what happened was another RP Thread and not an actual plot event. Whichever thread was created first is what happens first, for the sake of simplicity.

Cannon Plot left some events uncertain... can I throw some light into them?
If you are just guessing and your RP is going to affect the general plot of the shop, always, always ask first! PM Ari or Akio with your doubts and ideas, and wait before taking actions. Otherwise you risk taking a boot to the head for breaking our carefully planned plots nnU

If you aren't just taking a guess on what happened and know the facts for sure, still ask if it's ok to reveal things, unless you already know it's ok to do so.

I don't like this hero, can I kill/hurt him/her?
Why so violent? gonk
Anyways, ask the guardian and us first. You cannot kill another guardian's hero just because you feel like it!

I have a question you didn't answer!!
Then ask either by PM to Ari or Akio, or in the main shop thread.

Extra tips:

Follow Gaia's ToS
Keep all PG-13 and nice, people!

Do not god-mod
Everytime you god-mod, God kills a kitty! Please, think about the kitties!

Do not RP a character that is not yours
Good:
Akio: *gives Gabrio a mug of chocolate*
Gabrio: *takes the mug, but does not drink because it's still too hot*

Bad:
Akio: *gives Gabrio a mug of chocolate and sees how he takes a sip and burns his tongue, instantly regretting it*

Be sure to read all the rules and guidelines!
Pretty-please? nn-

Step One:
Ask the one who you want to roleplay with. Be sure to tell them any ideas you have in mind for the RP and, once you come to an agreement, jump to step two.

Step Two:
Create a new thread in the main forum of the guild.

The tittle should be like this: --< Private RP: Hero1 x Hero2 >--

Also, write in the first post the place where the action happens and, it it's a "flashback" scene, the moment in time when it occurs. You may write other extra info you deem fit, like the current daytime or even weather if it's gonna be important.

Example:
--< Private RP: Akio x Gabrio >--

A.H. Shop. Saturday morning.

Akio had finished the morning chores and was seated behind the counter like every Saturday, waiting for PastryCat's appearence to save lunch break.

Step Three:
Roleplay as much as you want.

Step Four:
Once your partner(s) and you think the scene is long enough and has come to an end, make a last post with the message "RP Finished" (you may choose another words if you feel creative, but make sure the message is clear for us to understand)

The A.H. Shop:
User Image

The shop is a safe place for heroes and guardians alike. The windows are made with a special type of cristal that doesn't allow humans to see the guardians roaming arround, so they can stop using their anti-perception ability here and relax.

All the files about hero's powers and development are kept in the big libraries behind the counter. Everybody can leave notes and battle challenges in the Notice Board next to the backstore door.

The couches are very comfortable to take a little nap between battles. The library behind them is filled with books that heroes decide to bring and share with others.

The Infinite Corridor:

Behind the simple door in the shop there is an infinite corridor full of doors. The place has been created with voidal magic, and most of the rooms behind the doors are empty and used for battle training.

Some have become the home for the di'ns who still lack a hero. Akio, too, has one of the rooms for himself since he has to be in the shop 24/7. The door to Akio's home has a green sign with his name and is almost always closed, since he doesn't need to open it in order to get inside.

One of the doors is labeled as the "backstore". It's fairly bigger than the rest and it's mainly used for events. It stores some chairs and two long tables, and has enough space to fit all the heroes partying all night long.

Finally, two doors are labeled as the male and female bathrooms.

If you walk too far to see the door back to the shop, big arrows will appear on the floor pointing you in the right direction back. Believe us, you don't want to test the limits of voidal magic seeing how far you can get walking. It gets boring soon, and you risk being late for dinner.

The Backalley:

Just next to the shop there is a lonely backalley. There isn't much to do there, but sometimes heroes need to get out of the shop for some fresh air or for smoking (remember, dear children, smoking is bad for your lungs).

It really gets spooky at night, when shadows cover it from every angle.

Other places:
You may choose other places to roleplay. A nearby park, your hero's home, the only limit is your imagination!
