Well, first off I have to say that I had no intention of ever writing a zombie book. Zombies scare me and give me nightmares.
However, the Stair People zombie shoot provided many interesting pictures and characters. Adam and I were lucky enough to be given a collage of several pictures and 2 seperately framed pictures that we hung in our bedroom, which I get to look at every night and every morning. This is were inspiration struck. The characters from our shoot seemed so interesting: Who were they? Where did they come from? How did they end up together?
I never thought it would go so far as to be a possible novel.
Some of the Stair People, those who were there, know of this idea and have contributed greatly to its possible completion.
I have not given up on this story, though it has taken a long time to get to where it is now.
It is beyond anything I have ever tried to write, in that it is not a fun fantasy like the other stories I have held onto for so long.
It is full of horror, mutilation, death, vulgarity and unspeakable acts, all of which are necessary to make this story work.
I can only hope that my feeble sheltered mind can grasp this unbelievable concept and do it justice.
Since this idea was spawned nearly a year ago, I have watched a few zombie movies and plan to watch many more. It is both for research and to desensitize myself to the zombie horrors that I have long been afraid of.
I still have nightmares but they have served their purpose in helping me channel that fear into my novel.
I hope to someday finish this story and see where it goes.

ZOMBIE UPDATES:
1/26:
A complete story outline has been written with the basic ideas for each chapter. Novel is approx. 20 chapters long.
The prologue and first 2 chapters are in the 2nd draft stage, and chapters 3-5 are in the first draft stage.
1/28:
2nd draft of chapter 3 finished.
1/30:
2nd draft of chapter 4 finished.
2/24:
2nd draft of chapter 5 finished.
3/3:
3rd draft of chapters 1 & 2 finished.
3/12:
3rd draft of chapter 3 finished.
4/2:
3rd draft of chapters 4 & 5 finished.
6/9:
(anniversary lol)
1st draft of chapter 6 completed.
6/12:
Reworking chapters 1-5.
6/21:
Completely rewrote story outline! 18 chapters, not counting prologue and epilogue.
6/22:
Finished reworking chapters 1-5.
6/23:
2nd draft of chapter 6 finished.

GAH!
So many decisions!
So many different things the characters want to do!
I still have so much to write and I feel as if I haven't done anything!
WILL THIS EVER BE FINISHED?!
