I for one do not like it, as I have wasted MANY hours on the game orb farming, but I did meet many new friends and I had a good time in the process, the real thing that turns me off for this is recipe items will lose worth, so I wont be able to sell Sinister Scarf for the 400k I wanted for another Gimpi!

Also, I get even less orbs now, so I don't see what you're talking about.
Farming isn't a thing of the past, seeing as how most people got crazy orb drops near the beginning while others, like me got screwed. As soon as I got to the Doll in Zen, it BROKE.
Also, it's not like you'll get so many orbs that you'll become a CL 10 ;P ...Now you may speak... ♢♡♤♧

I kind of like the update... I don't have a lot of time outside work and school. I don't particularly find spending that free time in the grinding rut a fun thing to do. Maybe I'll be able to play more now.

You posted this last night, even had a different title. The Maintenance window wasn't viewable for me.
If it gives 7 orbs? You'll have to do two quests just to level your rings up a notch. Qixter You'll have to try out the rate of advancement for yourself. zOMG! is not intended (and never was intended) to be a game that takes you months and months of full-time playing to get through Chapter One. The intent of this game has always been to be more casual than that, and to provide a sense of accomplishment for even short visits to the game. In essence, this is not supposed to become your life. It's supposed to be a reason to come and play for a while each day while you enjoy the rest of the Gaian experience. So the objective of this change may not exactly coincide with what you thought we were doing with this game. We're *not* like other MMOs. We actually would love it if you completed the first Chapter, hung out on the community waiting for the next Chapter, and then played the new Chapter to death when it arrives. So, please keep that in mind when you're thinking about the changes. To be honest, we waited until now to make these orb balance changes because we wanted to sew up most of the exploit holes before opening it up. Now that most of those changes are made, we feel more comfortable in allowing players to play in the style originally intended. Also, you're forgetting about the people who barely get any at all (like way less than me.)
I'm personally happy with it, seeing as how this is only the first chapter. ;D It's most likely going to be helpful.

Meh... I'm kinda neutral about the update.
For one side, I like the new price of the null frags *even though I don't have GC xD*
On the other hand... The new Ring Buffer, sounds good and all but I think an HOUR it's just Way Too Much, maybe 10, or at least 15 minutes would've been perfect... but an hour?? D8
Also, If may people get through the first chap quick, the endboss item prices will drop SO bad that a Sinister Scarf will end up costing 30K or something like that D8. That won't be good for the Marketplace economy.

i am one of the stupid ones that bought 50 null fragments with gold. so now i am hoping they won't ban me for doing that by accident. i forgot to check the forums before i purchased.... sweatdrop
i haven't jumped into the game yet since i want this little problem solved before then.

Whether you’re pleasing or pissing everyone off… I personally love the update.
The game is supposed to be casual, and some people were spending weeks, week, and even months just grinding. The game loses it's fun after a while if that's all you do.
I know I was getting tired of trying to get enough orbs to move on to Zen.
I played, and each monster is dropping 3 orbs a piece. eek
I played for ten minutes and already got like 30.
I think I'll be in Zen by tomorrow. xD I'm 2.8... .2 to go! … you’re doing something wrong.

thank goodness for omni mods!!!!! qixter and everyone are reverting the fragments and gold so gaians who bought the shards are not going to be banned. *wooooooo. sigh.* i was so scared!!!! gonk

Orb drop rates have dramatically increased, and I'm not saying this lightly.
In gold beach, all I did yesterday was kill anchor bugs/fluffs and in about...maybe 3 1/2 hours I have gained 340+ orbs. Now I'm worries about endboss recipes dropping in price so I'm going to try to get to 10.0 in the next few days...which would have been insane if I did so before the update.

I personally like the update. It'll make collecting and upgrading the rest of the rings available to a 10.0 a lot easier. 3nodding
