There is a total of 7/8 ranks. There is a set amount of levels in each rank as you level up. Each rank has a set amount of chakra. They are:

Rank - Level - Chakra Cap
Academt Student - 5 - 500cp
Genin - 10 - 1000cp
Chuunin - 15 - 5000cp
Jounin - 20 - 10000cp
Special Jounin - 30 - 25000cp
*S-Rank /Sannin - 35 - 50000cp
**Kage - 40/*50 - 75000cp/*100000cp
