Used to love black metal and heavy metal, then moved on to punk, but have always had likings of Celtic, techno, electronica, folk/acoustic, classic rock and all that.
Here lately I've been into easier, softer stuff along the lines of folk, classic rock and the such. Just been enjoying that's more "real" feeling to me than all the electronic stuff going on these days. Guess it has to do with atmosphere and all. Kinda hard to explain. I think it's a musician's soul kinda deal.

I think music is like the sky; Nobody can say one sky is more beautiful than the other. They all look beautiful to me. Therefore, I listen to everything. Rock, jazz, blues, classic, tribal, hiphop, rap, crunk, funk, punk, metal, electronica, techno... The list goes on. But right now I'm mostly into hiphop, jazz and blues. Nujabes, Substantial, The Seatbelts, John Lee Hooker... Old blending with the new. A little bit of this, a little bit of that.
If you're against hiphop, you should check my profile for the song 'Feather' by Nujabes and Substantial. Definitely one of the best songs I have ever heard.
Edit--> Okay... The song in my profile had some weird 'basement echo' stuff going on, while my Winamp songs worked just fine. I'm not sure if others will experience it, but if you do, terminate and try to find a better version.

I like most everything, Heavy Metal, Punk, Classic Rock, Alternative Rock. I too enjoy Celtic, Techno, and Rap/Hip-Hop every so often.
I have to many favorite bands, listening to Flogging Molly right now, no wait just changed... AC/DC! (Yay for shuffle!)
Very rarely like Rap. Most of it is "b***h, I'll ******** yo sista' then take yo drugs and get high..." I'm over-generalizing, of course.

I listen to nearly all kinds of metal, most rock, some punk, a little pop (mostly japanese...^^ wink
Hmm the reason?
Maybe because I like the sound of guitars and screams?^^
I normally don't listen to hiphop and rap and the most stuff in the radio.
But only because the mainstream is this "yo ******** yo"-s**t...
I don't want to generalize it, there are some cool songs out there I enjoy listening sometimes, but they are unfortunately few. sad

I like a very broad range of rock, older rap (Ex. Tupac, Public Enemy, Dr. Dre, that stuff)/ My favorite would be Sevendust, Serj Tankian (Both Solo and S.O.A.D.) and Salt the Wound. This is because, A. It takes talent, B. Many bands, ex 7D. have meaningful lyrics. And also, I am a screamer and singer myself. Personally, as others have stated, i do not like new rap, for the lyrics and lack of talent. I had a theory that almost anyone could rap, for example, Kanye West, decent songs on the albums eh?
