Story (short version):
it began as a broken night in Orlando. It is the familar blur of coke, pot, pills, and alcohol, Everyone is asleep as Renne (19) locks herself in the bathroom using a razorblade to write 'F### UP' large across her left forearm.
Her freinds drive her to a rehablitation center, but the center has no detox, names her too great a risk, and does not accept her for another 5 days. A fairly new freind of hers, Jamie, asks her what she would say if her story had an audience. At first he assumed the answer would be no, but her answer was unexpected; "tell them to look up; tell them to remeber the stars." she says. for the 5 days, her freinds took her in, taking her to concerts and stuff, on the last day she is at church. everyone there gives her a hug or some words of encoragment as someone plays songs inspired by her. While Renee was in the treatmen center, Jamie decided to write a two page story titled To Write Love On Her Arms and put it on myspace. Soon Renee's freinds realized they needed money for her treatment and began to sell Tshirts with the title of the story printed on the front and Renees story written on the inside. One day some good freinds of Jamie and Renee, Switchfoot, wore the shirts during their concerts in front of huge crouds and would stop in the middle of the concerts and talk about the shirts and where they came from. Now, the story has become a movement that has given not just me and a few of my freinds hope but thousands of people. they have donate millions of dollars
to hotlines and treatment and point directly torwards sources for help.
