I felt the need to draw up one of the scenes from Yata and Dimitri's epic battle in the final round of the Twilight Tournament. It's all in pencil so unfortunately no real color. It just takes too long to do sadly -.- Anyways:

I took the appearance of Yata from his earlier drawing of himself a while back and just made it more... sinister.
For Dimitri I just used the hair style and facial structure that I had to go on and then just came up with the body and symbol design by themselves.
I hate drawing cities and backgrounds though, particularly buildings.... they're so... monotonous and similar.

Yeah, I could tell. Shading and all is great, but the background is still sorta kindergartenish, especially compared to the characters. In your next picture, try to incorporate perspective, and as for the buildings themselves, think of them as boxes.
