What kind of musical group do you play in? How many?
I play in NJYS (I had the audition about 30 minutes ago and they said I was in!!!) and my high school bands. Mainly I get boring oom-pah music in Concert Band, but I get some cool solos in Wind Ensemble, even though I'm a freshman.

I play in the concert band at my college.
I love it, though. We play a lot of great music, I have friends in there, and playing the bassoon in general rocks.

Not as many as I'd like.
Right now I'm just in Chamber music, my college orchestra, and a youth orchestra.
I was in a lot more in high school. Back then, in my senior year, I did:
high school wind ensemble
high school orchestra
high school chamber music
youth wind ensemble
youth orchestra
youth chamber music
allstate orchestra
senior district wind ensemble
pit orchestra for another school's musical.
It was soooo much fun.

I played in orchestra (sometimes) and band in high school. So far in my university, I've been in Chamber Orchestra, Concert Band, and Symphonic Band.

Chamber Orchestra (very small lol)
High School Wind Ensemble
High School Concert Band
And High School Orchestra
I play 1st bassoon in all of them (except my quartet i play 4th i requested it i love 4th parts biggrin )

I play in All-state, some honor bands, my high school wind ensemble and the Albuquerque Youth Symphony. With AYS we're touring in Australia this year! How exciting is that!

I play in my junior high band, there are over 100 people, but I'm not sure of the exact number. Then once a year I get stuck playing with the dorchestra, and I don't know how many people there are. And sometimes, during band we'll practice solos, and when we do there's usually one or two from each section, except percussion.
And if it means anything I've been first chair since my first year...
