Hey everybody, this is a little shout-out/complaint I have with the guild right now, and I just wanted to direct your attention to it.

**Note: If you're a new member in the last few months, this doesn't apply, so only read if you're bored, haha**

We keep getting new members to our little guild here, and that's great! Spread the greatness of Kirby and stuff because he's that awesome,
^(~^_^~)>.

But I notice that nearly all topics have gone sort of like this....

"Discuss this character or game, he/it's cool!"
"Yeah, I agree, blah blah blah."
"Indeed, blah blah blah!"
"That reminds me of...."
"OH YEAH!"
"We're totally off-topic now!"
"WHO CARES?!"
"BLAH BLAH BLAH!!"

And while that's nice and all, and I'm not saying "don't go off topic" (it's hard to get convo otherwise), it would be nice if you came back to the topic subject every now and then. I am sure that a lot of new members come with anticipation and are like, "OH BOY", then either post reading the first post, and ignored (because they're not part of the "current" conversation) or look at the recent posts and go, "What does this have to do with anything?" (Which I myself have done.... multiple times)

These side-conversations are nice, and I too do engage in them, but to get more members showing up than just the usual.... uhm.... five of us.... It would be nice to try to stay at least somewhere close to the topic. There is a random chat (or maybe that was somewhere else and I'm delusional) for that kind of stuff, and though inactive, the topics stated are better suited there.

Example of something okay that is slightly off topic:
-The mini-Captain Vul roleplay I and Laura are doing in the Captain Vul topic. This is fine because, more or less, it at least still has the character of interest in the conversation, even if it's not constructive or anything.

Something that should probably go into another topic (or like, PMs):
-One line posts to a conversation that has nothing to do with the topic. I don't mind these, really. I don't particular care that much, but just saying in the interest of getting (and keeping) new members, it'd be nice to stray away from this (watch me do it in two seconds too and prove how contradictory I am) in favor of discussion.

Gotta try and think hard of something to stay related to the topic! Seems like work, but c'mon, we're the "KIRBY Guild" not the "Totally random crap guild that has Kirby references in it".

So.... yep, that's about it. You can totally ignore this if you want, but just asking (well, politely stating I guess would be better wording) if we could try to do this more often.

Also note:
MODS. ....I need to fix the moderator list badly. I'm sure half of them are not even active here anymore, and the other half don't know they are mods (except for probably me and one other person). I've been really bad with this too, but we gotta make sure to check for new members at least once a week. I got a PM from someone going, "Hey, I sent this like 4 days ago, where are you?" and I felt horrible, =(. But if you are AWARE you are a mod, please try to do this and check for new members. ...and tell your other fellow mods (and me) to do so as well.

OKAY!
That was, like anything I say, overly lengthy and not to the point right off-the-bat. ...but I tried to be polite, right? *SHOT* Have a good day all, =D!

I don't mean to sound like I'm contradicting you, but we've already talked about it (somewhere around here...)

This is sounding totally pessimistic, and I don't really want to say it but...

Unless we get new oppinions and frequent posters, there's only so much to say that's on topic. Or we could constantly make new topics. And I dunno about you, but I'm completely out of ideas for new topics...

The only way to keep it on topic and keep the guild alive is if we advertise like hell, and maybe put a gun up to the heads of people we know to join and post. Or beg the people who left this guild to frequent the thread to come back.

You're right, this needs to be fixed, and we ALL have to help if we want to fix it. So if you have an idea, I wanna hear it.

...I hated talking like this, 'specially since some of this is my fault.

I get that, and I'm not saying "Stay directly to the topic", just try to bring it up every now and then.

...that's not too hard, is it, =/?

Ahh, I see where you're comming from Kenta. I think it was actually like that when I joined way back when. Well, I'll try to
a) Do my best to post frequently
b) Advertise (We got any banners I could put in my signature?)
c) Stay a bit on topic, because I know what it feels like to go into a topic and say "What are we talking about, and what does this have to do with the topic?"

I have had 1 person join..I'll try for others. ^ ^'

So far I haven't even seen him post yet. .__.'

piss baby

I seriously think bringing the people from the thread back here would help.
